There won’t be violence. Americans voted for fascism and they will sit on their hands as Trump takes away their freedoms one at a time. The rest of us squawking like chickens is just a distraction. |
There is nothing in the Constitution about political parties or primaries. But there most definitely is something in the Constitution about the counting of the electoral votes, which Trump's supporters attempted to violently interrupt. It always amazes me how people will point to the way that Kamala Harris became the nominee in 2024 in order to say "both sides are against democracy." |
DP. No, Biden didn’t revoke Trump’s security. Recall the coverage indicating even if convicted and sentenced to prison he would have protection. But there are so many more examples of unprecedented dangerous behavior, from bullying neighbors to abandoning allies to sympathizing with invaders, it’s getting hard to summarize, which I think is part of the strategy. |
I agree, and I think that’s because they don’t really know what fascism entails. It hasn’t been taught in schools in any great details. How will freedom loving Americans respond to the bureaucracy, limitations, classism that comes with an autocratic system. A one party system is what the majority (this includes those who voted and those who chose not to) of the public asked and voted for. Consequently, a one party system also removes the need for citizens participation apart from conforming and protecting the system. And as normally happens in societies with this type of system, those who are able will leave, others will adjust. Which reminds me of this quote by one of the founding fathers, Patrick Henry, “ give me liberty or give me death.” |
I would hope to explain to the person you describe how we are significantly less safe as more countries build nukes, which we are encouraging (former?) allies to do by our latest behavior and rhetoric. These are wealthy and advanced nations; we couldn’t stop Pakistan and N Korea, so we won’t stop Germany, Poland, Japan, Turkey, Canada, S Korea… In fact, Vance met with the far right German party most eager to build nukes while there. The more kids playing with firecrackers, the more likely an accident, except this could plausibly trigger an extinction sequence. The woke culture nonsense is a nuisance in comparison. Why we are willing to sacrifice NATO to pursue some kind of great power division of rare mineral rich territories in various northernmost countries is a matter of conjecture, but it’s interesting the wealthiest presidential donor needs large volumes of such materials to fulfill his ketamine visions. |
Dems are no saints but working class will lose way more under Trump. Under Trump they will lose Medicaid, social security, education, health care, jobs, farms, infrastructure, emergency relief, truth, and lives. It has already started but more and more will be affected in the coming months. Trump will not save them. In fact, he is using his “agenda” to destroy some of them and control the rest. It is heartbreaking to watch.
Once MAGA wakes up, it will be too late. America is losing what makes it a world leader- scientific innovation. We have nothing else to sell to the world. People who say the federal government did nothing for them… wow, just wow. All I can say is you will soon experience what it’s like to have a federal government that does nothing for you…and actually works against you. |
#Truth I used to be a Democrat, but voted for Trump this time. I live in a super blue county in a super blue state and I have watched how the Democrat pushed political policies have wrecked my middle-class community and destroyed our schools. The Republicans aren't fighting for the working-class, but neither are the Democrats. |
This is spot on. I'm a non-white female and don't listen to Rogan, Kirk but agree with this. Don't forget the authoritarian flavor of the COVID vaccine mandates pushed by the Democrats and the extreme censorship of opposing views. Honestly, it was terrifying to see how quickly the Democrats could single-handedly shut down all discourse in name of 'safety'. No thanks. I'll take my chances with Trump. |
We need new blood so badly. But none of it can come from Trump's orbit. They are all crooked or brainwashed. |
Trump and his GOP cronies have brought you to this place and it's based on lies. You are making all of us take a chance with Trump and it's going to be terrible. Thanks a lot, moron. Yup, I called you a moron, because you are tanking our country. You smug, stupid moron. There is nothing worse than a true believer who thinks they are all righteous and justified as they terrorize and torture and harm those around them. YOU are like the Salem Witch Trial people and the Spanish Inquisition. Destroying as you go and so damn righteous about it. You suck. I wish I could say this to your smug face. |
DP. Neither revoked security protection (IE: Secret Service protection). Trump revoked his access to security briefings, and that’s what’s being discussed here, and As pointed out, Biden did it first, and was the first President to do so. https://www.npr.org/2025/02/08/nx-s1-5290912/trump-revoke-biden-security-clearance-history-explainer |
But even if they do now see it, so what? What are they going to do? Trump could have an approval of 0 and he’d still go what he wants to do.
People can’t go back in time and change their vote. So what does it matter? The only hope now is Congress + judiciary. And maybe ordinary folks can boycott Amazon, Target, Facebook, Tesla… but not even sure if that would do anything at this point. |
DP. It is obviously petty and vindictive, no matter how you want to spin it. His behavior should worry you, if you have any sense of morals and ethics. |
Was it petty and vindictive when Biden did it in 2021? Did it worry you then? From the article above:
If it’s such a horrible thing, where was your outrage then? |
At this point it doesn't matter
Years of misinformation and wanting to believe this misinformation have made them useless They are not capable of running a democracy |
