Democrats who are upset

It’s a very depressing situation.

If someone says they’re against DEI, forget the acronym.

Make them use the words.

Ask why they’re against diversity.
Ask why they’re against equity.
Ask why they’re against inclusion.

I’d respond “what, specifically, do you mean by ‘diversity, equity, inclusion’?” And nobody would be able to tell me because it’s all just vibes at best or racism at worst.

DEI is great. I support DEI.

What I don't support is socially engineered/quota/check the box DEI which is what it became. Take a look at One Fairfax - that's social engineering.

- Stop focusing on issues that impact the minority of the population (I don’t care if someone is trans, wants to go by they/them, is non-binary or whatever, and no one should be discriminated against for these things. but I do not know a single person falling into these categories - and I live in DC, not the middle of nowhere).
- Focus on issues that impact the vast majority of the population (both republicans and democrats): cost of childcare, cost of college, student loans, healthcare, etc.
- Make it clear that the Democratic Party does not condone illegal immigration in any way, shape or form, particularly violent criminals
- soften the language on the abortion issue (I am pro choice, but grew up Catholic and some of the democrats come off almost as if they are promoting abortion versus acknowledging that oftentimes it is a sad, difficult choice).

I am an independent, left leaning voter FWIW.

This +100

This is depressing. Other countries have elected women!

Equity is racist and Marxist social engineering. I believe in a meritocracy. MLK said that he had a dream that one day people would be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. Liberals don’t believe in his words. I hope for MLK’s dream for my children.

Awesome! Then you'll be very happy to learn that "DEI" is literally just that!

Anonymous, race-blind resumes so that people get selected based on their qualifications? That's DEI!

Making sure the qualified candidates that are selected for the job are done so based on their ability to do the job and not because a hiring manager has a preference for white people or men? That's DEI!

Turns out you were for DEI all along! Don't feel bad, lots of people got fooled by the right wing propaganda. Welcome to the big liberal tent!

The Democratic Party needs to adjust their rhetoric to be at an 8th grade or lower level. Trump does a great job at this. The average US voters is mot well educated. I do not mean this as an insult nor do I mean they are not smart. They simply are not well educated. Democrats come off sounding like college educated snobs who look down on voters who are not as educated. Democrats also need to believe voters instead of trying to explain away the voters’ experience. This election cycle voters said they felt poor and groceries cost too much. Trump said he would lower the price of groceries. Democrats said actually the economy is good. Trump wins. Democrats need to listen to voters, validate their experience and state that they will help. And yes do this even if they do not have a plan.

They'll do nothing differently. They don't get what just happened.

They are so tone deaf. All the crazy policies that made zero sense didn't work. We MUST appeal to common sense.
ZERO chance Dems retake the Senate next cycle. Look at the map and retirements. Dems have a slim chance for the House. It is clear things will be put in place to make the battle to get the house an uphill battle. The only shot is 4 years from now.

This is just a perfect picture of what is wrong with the world and why we are completely screwed.

Racism and sexism is exactly why Kamala lost, and the racists and sexists loudly proclaim "calling us racists and sexists racist and sexist only makes us want to be more racist and sexist!"

So our choices are placate the racists and sexists (and by doing so give up any chance to improve racism and sexism) or let the racists and sexists run the asylum.

Kamala never mentioned trans issues as it was a republican selling point based on nothing being talked about on the democratic side

We absolutely DO believe in his words. But unlike you, we understand that we aren't there.

The problem is that people ARE being judged by the color of their skin and held back for not being white. You're just blind to it.

+1000. Harris did not run on trans issues. Neither did the majority of Democrats.

Republicans brought up trans issues in every campaign rally and falsely claimed she ran on it, even to the point of making up bogus slogans like "Trump is for you, Harris is for they/them" or whatever the hell it was.

It was effective, but it was a lie and sadly tens of millions of Americans did not know they were being manipulated like that.

She "ran on" trans issues in the sense that she mentioned trans people should have rights. The problem is that the mouth breathing right wing voters decided "mentioning trans people deserve rights" actually meant "this will be the only focus of my presidency."

For some reason they believed that the trans rights issue would consume some massive portion of Kamala's term as if the "trans agenda" meant she would spend 6 hours of every day thinking of ways to make men wear dresses when in reality it would be a week's worth of work passing a single bill and drafting a few victory tweets.

This is exactly why right wingers earn their status as idiotic low information voters because they literally can't understand simple concepts like "just because the economy and trans rights are both mentioned as issues doesn't mean they will both get equal time and consideration."

I should clarify. I'm a black woman. I will be voting for Vance if he runs in 2028 if the Democrats keep up this delusion. Also, Kamala couldn't form a coherent sentence. To deny that is to deny reality
