What are we supposed to do about non-athletic child?

I'm the OP of this thread...getting caught up before I give up this forum for Lent...
Shortly after I posted this my son asked to quit hockey and try yet another team sport and I said we were going to forget about them for awhile. I told him I didn't want him to cry at home anymore and anyway he seemed more interested in getting the shirt with his name on it than anything else. So I signed him up for the local ninja gym (stupidly expensive) to just work on getting stronger and more coordinated.
He was unenthusiastic due to the lack of personalized shirt but he has ended up loving it. The coach is a very nice young guy. There is no competition between the boys, just working on self-improvement. I didn't stay and watch but when I asked him what they did he said he is learning to do stunts like Buster Keaton (which tells you he's my kid for sure!)
Also he's doing really well in band. So we're all feeling better here.
