We don't need it because schools need to be open. If you want to discuss the joys of winter storms, do it on the Off Topic forum. Doing it here just means you want schools closed. Lazy.

I prefer schools to be open and my kids to be bleeding in a ditch where their bus slid off the road. I am a totally sane parent who does not hate his children and I should be taken very seriously.

That’s harsh.

It’s a possibility that a bus can’t make it to a school and then creating a panic when the automated calls start…”your kid is absent…”

What?
The PP said they prefer school to be open and their kids to be bleeding on a ditch.

You are legitimately winter Scrooge. Re-examine your life and how you got to the point where you are immune to the joy of snow, or at least to the joy it brings children. Sorry for you.
I’d rather it a week or two later.

Why not both??

Do you really want to have school in very late June?

Huh? There are 13 built in snow days.

“Built in” happened when they started counting the ten minutes in getting off busses and walking to class in the morning and the ten minutes in the afternoon walking to the bus as “instructional time”. There are actually fewer days and fewer hours in the calendar since they made that change. Your kids are getting less education as a result. Every snow day just reduces it further.

OMG just be quiet, we're not talking about instructional time, we're talking about snow days. Go home.

LOL, we already have that due to the morons on the School Board. Might as well enjoy a snow day.

Only a moron would consider June 11 to be “very late June.” LOL!

DP. I agree that it is very late for the school year. Fortunately, snow days in January will not extend the school year farther into June unless we get more than 2.5 weeks of snow closures.

Maybe if you yell loud enough, the snow will be scared away and will fall somewhere else?

I lost count on the number of snow days we used.
Kids haven’t been in school since 2023
And people are asking for even more snow days.
