Also, technically, Tariffs are a one-time increase to a price and by definition are not inflationary.

This is a smart move by Mr Trump. He is not even president yet so the market will price in this incoming tariffs before he even takes office. And Mexico will fold they don't have a choice. Countries are not always quick to retaliate when a trading partner imposes tariffs because they don't want additional escalation that will leave them worse off.

Almost everything anyone buys, both small items like a banana or appliances, cars and electronics, will all see price increases. Since so much of our gas for cars comes from Alberta, it would raise the cost of a gallon anywhere from $.35 to $.75 just off the top.

Trump started the reindustrialization of America, although Democrats don't like to give him credit for that. Biden has made a lot of progress, although Republicans don't like to give him credit for that.

These tariffs are just dumb. There are plenty of good ways to incentivize buying American and incentivize wage growth (which is inflationary). Then there are bad ways, such as this.

Biden got a deal for Microsoft to invest in the facility and it is basically up and running now.
