Not really.. Sellers will expedite imports right now, before Jan 20. Inventory will rise. Same sellers will become greedy and try to sell those goods at 'post tariff' prices. Goods will sit on shelves for a couple of months followed by fire sale! That's the best time to buy.

Either that or get stuck with inventory and go bankrupt. What do you think they'll do? Big corporations and Industry associations hire economists and data analysts to anticipate market behavior and tailor their practices to optimize profits. This will be just that.. unless of course, trump's shining demeanor on the throne inspires companies to start hiring and increase salaries for everyone such that GDP jumps and we all have so much disposable income that we don't mind the high cost of imported goods.
