What are you even talking about? She comes off as someone who doesn’t have much going on upstairs. If Dawn Iannaco-Hahn wants to write you in as POTUS, you know you’ve messed up somewhere along the line. |
My kids went to schools with hers for 7 years. In all that time Brenda never allowed her kids to participate in class parties, including Halloween and V-Day; instead, they’d do the alternate activity in the media center. I assumed then it was for religious reasons so I thought “to each her own” but I think now it also reflects on what she thinks is imp. (or not) for others’ kids. She could take even more fun out of MCPS if she were elected. One anecdote: she flaked out on me one year by RSVP-ing “yes” to my kid’s party only for her child to never show. I texted and tried calling her a few times during the first 30-45 min. of the party, “hi! where’s so-and-so?” and eventually got a lackluster “Oh, I forgot.” No apologies or explanation. Like it didn’t matter to anyone. I was bummed because as we all know with those private-venue type of parties where you pay for each spot and places are capped, that’s an invitation that could have been filled by another, given enough notice. So based on my personal interactions with her as a fellow Mcps parent - I would not recommend Brenda for the BOE. |
It wasn't ridiculous as kids are in close contact. My kid got covid from a sport. |
How, most of us aren't seeing it? |

One or my older neighbors told me she voted for Diaz because she presumed the person with the Hispanic last name was going to be best. I told her about her background and views, and she now wishes she could go back and change her vote. Um, nope, that's not how it works. You actually need to put in a modicum of effort looking at candidates.
Now I'm worried about this race. |

Diaz has to be bad there is a whole thread about her

They need to enforce a vaccine mandate to be in school. Allowing a public health crisis to fester is terrible. |
Like what? Can you be specific? I see a lot of complaining here but nothing concrete. |
| Diaz is a book-banning, anti-vaccine, right-wing Mom's for Liberty candidate. No way she's winning in MoCo |
She already got through the primary. |
IIRC that’s because people were so mad at the incumbent— in a 2 way race she is in trouble. |
Are there still people in 2024 who believe: 1) the Covid vaccine prevents Covid; 2) kids and teenagers are at risk from Covid; and 3) the benefits from a slightly less intense cold outweigh the risk of heart damage in teenagers? |
The Covid vaccine did not prevent infection. Requiring kids to get a Covid vaccine for any reason was REALLY bad public health policy. And was not backed by science at all. |
A vote for Natalie Zimmerman is also a vote against vaccine misinformation! Win-win. |
| Voting for the candidate endorsed by the fascist women's auxiliary is not an attractive idea. |
