Israel historically always had a leftist Labor Party prime minister. Netanyahu is a Likud right wing so it’s a no brainer he would have tension with US Democratic administrations back to back and some of that spillover affected the US progressive /Democrat’s relationship with Israel.

One of Netanyahu’s dumbest moments was speaking to Congress snubbing Obama and Biden. Things like that aren’t forgotten by politicians.

He played politics and aligned himself with Trump and the Republican Party so much so that Netanyahu’s approval ratings among Republicans are higher than his ratings with American Jews (largely Democrat, progressive)
