Hayfield Football Coach Fired

You don't have to live inside the zone boundaries IF you meet FCPS criteria for a bona fide transfer, for instance studying a foreign language that isn't offereda t your base school or taking AP or IB.

Yeah the find some sort of loophole to make it legit. Similar to declaring homeless.

Its not a loophole-its a legitimate reason FCPS allows transfers between your base school and the closest school open to transfers that offers that program.

Faking homelessness is.....not legitimate. I mean, obviously.

Yes, all of those Madison baseball players have a deep interest in ASL as a foreign language

He keeps arguing this because he is not a Fairfax County resident and doesn't understand our system.

A ffx resident tansferring to a school for IB/AB or to take Japanese or Russian is perfectly legit and makes the FCPS student a full student at the receiving school.

Lying about residency and abusing homeless protections by out of state kids as a means to recruit for sports is an abuse of the system and not at all legitimate.

Madison is definitely a school I have heard about doing active recruiting for years.

Whether they care or not about ASL, if they are enrolled in the courses, they are legitimate Madison students.

Very few FCPS HSers have a "deep interest" in the required foreign language classes. They just sign up for one and slog through.

As I read it the challenge became that in school district where now Overton came from, very different transfer rules and very common to shift schools for sports. They got caught by surprise when wasn’t same in FCPS. My question is the investigation report I saw was very tailored language to say no wrongdoing by the head coach. Were other coaches/team mom investigated to?

Before investigation was closed the reporting was fake addresses being used, declaring homeless and paying local families to use their addresses. The Reid update seemed to say no wrongdoing by the coach, which seemed intentionally worded. There is then separate report that before 1st game, 9 kids were not allowed to play, but don’t know if they are playing now. I get going to school to play for particular coach, but this situation definitely smelled.

Their was no wrongdoing by the coach and if 9 kids are ineligible, it doesn’t look like they are needed.

Hayfield 70 - Edison 6. Edison becomes the second team to put points up against Hayfield.

The Hayfield Clemson commit who had been ineligible was on the field tonight and scored a TD.

let’s see what happens when Riverdale Baptist comes down to George Washington’s old plantation. If they beat Riverdale Baptist, my money is on Hayfield to bring home the 6A state Championship.

Most of the 9 played last night. The rumor is they had grade problems not residency problems and needed September to book enough grades to get eligible.
