Read that McKinsey report more closely. They mention minorities not underrepresented minorities. They are talking about companies with more asians being more profitable than companies than are almost exclusively white. It's not diversity that makes them profitable, it's having more asians. |
India has affirmative action, doesn't it? |
People around here redshirt their kids for school and "play up" for sports. |
Then why the F*k didn't we get rid of it sooner? |
The supreme court case was about race and had nothing to say about sex. |

DP but because there’s no real clear thread on why black students’ scores would change. |

The benefits of "diversity" for factors unrelated to talent is mostly a myth. There is basically no benefit to "diversity" preferences in hiring or admission for non-creative fields after you control for publication bias in the research. However, the data is very strong to indicate that standardized test scores are a strong predictor of future academic and professional performance. This trend of holistic admissions for medical school is especially concerning to me because prioritizing nebulous "diversity" factors over merit will literally kill people. The test scores on these tests are directly correlated with patient outcomes. Range restriction makes this relationship appear smaller than it actually is because the least qualified people are filtered through multiple rounds of exams. If you want to consider diversity for art school or literary arts school fine, but it should play no role in admissions/employment decisions for medical professionals or engineers where mistakes kill people. https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/patient-safety-outcomes/high-board-exam-scores-linked-to-reduced-patient-deaths.html https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37816217/ https://www.aamc.org/media/78266/download |
Multiple people have provided the same, logical explanation. But still you play the victim card. Just get therapy or something. |
So does China |
Yes, it matters. Look at your inability to think critically. |
| They have so many applicants that they have many different people reviewing. They don't want to admit that they are inconsistent so use holistic as an excuse when they let in a weaker candidate. |
You can't know that, because the report doesn't say how they measured diversity. |
