My parents are immigrants from a developing a country . Our family is super pro deport everyone who breaks the laws. It’s a privilege to be here as an asylum seeker or green card holder. You break the law you should get tossed out.

Look at what is happening in NYC. So many Venezuelans that now people there can’t stand them. Why? Because too many young men who are breaking the law. Using electric bikes to steal, brazenly shoplift, assaulting and shooting cops. The vast majority of Venezuelans aren’t like that and don’t want them around. But NYC won’t tell immigration when they arrest them. It benefits the rest of the migrants to toss all these punks out of the country.

It's the same in Chicago. My MIL is very, very progressive and has always implied I'm racist for wanting immigration laws enforced. Now even she is demanding that they all get deported.

Many posters make valid points but the level of ignorance is shocking. Clearly most can’t differentiate between countries accepting refugees where it is a deliberate decision which involves setting targets or quotas (eg Germany taking 1 million Syrians), planned migration which may not may not include people from particular countries (eg Canada, Australia), and illegal migration which is incredibly difficult to stop.

Where it is planned, there are levers that can control it and public pushback can alter government policy. For example, Canada’s admission of huge numbers including many from the Punjabi region. Australia is also cutting back on legal permanent migration and the housing crisis is causing pushback against the 800,000 international students admitted each year.

But illegal immigration is incredibly difficult to control. And it is much harder in the EU than here where there is largely just one land border with Mexico to worry about. The EU has to deal with the entire Mediterranean Sea and entry over land borders in the east. No wall could protect those. The US largely has some 600 million people in central and South America to worry about. Europe has 1.5 billion in Africa plus those in the Middle East and Asia. So any war or climate-related disaster can result in a huge movement of people.

This idea of Europe having open borders to the world is ridiculous. Why do you think the EU has given $1 billion in aid to Lebanon? To stop it becoming a new route. Why do you think the EU funds the Libyan coastguard? To try to stop boats. I’m sure they would love to hear your brilliant ideas.

I have absolutely no problem with Muslim women or any other woman following their respective customs. I have a problem when their customs are given priority or normalized. If you want to wear a hijab, cool. My hair will still be visible. You want to SAH, cool. You think I should stay at home or your husband wont interact with me at work on work-based items because of his religious beliefs, not cool. During Ramadan, your kids (if fasting) need the library for quiet play and for lunch, make the accommodation (if possible). You want to control whether kids at school can have pork-based foods in school, you've lost your mind.

There are no boundaries when it comes to making sure protests are peaceful and there are people proudly holding up terrorists flags and calling for jihad as they cover their faces. We are in crisis and I the irony is, if leadership does not get things under control, we will be moving toward a society where I can guarantee you nobody is allowing you to have an abortion and that will be the least of your problems. There are neighborhoods trying to institute sharia law here and abroad.

I don't feel safe due to the mass importing of pre-civilisational barbarians from cultures which hate women, Christians, and Jews. My child and other children have been accosted at the local park which my property taxes pay for. I had a long conversation with a beat cop about the situation and he explained that the aggressive children are publicly housed immigrant teenies for gangs, that they are dangerous and effectively untouchable for political reasons, and that we should avoid them. So we no longer go to the local park. I am cat-called in front of my daughter. I have been jeered at by gangs of Arabic men-usually while alone or with other women, but even while being accompanied by men. I have been accosted by groups of sub-Saharan African and Arabic men in broad daylight.

Our politicians post about Islamophobia most days. When are our politicians and leaders going to talk about the rights and freedoms of Canadian women and our ability to walk around in our own country without being intimidated? I can't do all of the things that I used to do without being menaced by foreigners. So I no longer do them. While walking downtown a few weeks ago, a man who looked east African lunged towards me and threw a burning cigarette at me. These types of unpleasant events are now so frequent that I barely register them. I am startled and then I move on. I have modified my behaviour to protect myself because in Canada women are defenseless.

We were always defenseless due to strict legal gun laws, but we used to live in a culturally cohesive, high trust society. We don't any more. So the questions become why don't we live in a high trust society, what has changed, and what do we do about it? Should I have to fear for my own safety due to the polite lies of post-nationalist kooks? Are we really expected to believe that Canada must import the criminal underclass from collapsed pre-civilisational nation states in order to survive as a country? Is anyone really still stupid enough to believe this? Is anyone still buying the economic argument which is a Keynesian economic argument predicated on Malthusian population growth? It doesn't stand up to basic scrutiny and doesn't allow for natural market corrections.

When I tell people about the harassment I experience they sometimes deflect by saying that men in general harass women. But there has been no rise of men in general harassing me. There are no groups of Chinese or white guys harassing me. It's very specifically Arabic and sub-Saharan foreigners harassing me. But apparently it's xenophobic for women to tell the truth about these experiences and it is xenophobic for us to resist harassment. In the same way we are to accept males in private female spaces and sports if they claim to be a woman, we are to lie back and think of post-nationalist multiculturalism in the face of dangerous males.
