Would it be weird to ask to be reimbursed?

So if you are saying what the activity was, are you assuming they didn't already know? If so, I would venmo the money but politely ask for the parent to please not drive my child to activities in the future without a heads up to me. The money is not the issue, I want to know where my kid is and what he is doing, generally.

If you were a good parent you would already know.

Same. I have no clue why anyone is posting that this money is gone. Text the kid and the parent together: Hi. Larla asked me to cover the $30 cost to the Trampoline House. My Venmo is @sallysmom or you can use Apple Pay. Thanks. Jane

I'm interested to know for those who are going to eat the costs, vs those who would ask for money - what is your HHI?

I wouldn't ask. Our combined incomes are low by DCUM standards ($250K), but very high compared to the average income of a kid at my child's school, and most of their friends. That is why I would not ask (but also would not have paid for a $30 per kid activity in the first place either, for a non-birthday or special event).

My kid is 14 (so around a year older) but if he said he was "hanging out with Billy and Bobby after school," I would not probe him about whether he was actually going to be driven to a paid activity that cost $30 in someone else's car. I'd assume it was at one of their homes or in the park or one of the two restaurants by school, which is what the kids usually do.

I have a 14 and 16 year olds and I expect them to tell me where they are.
