I thought so too initially but she's been back earnestly making her case and said she's posted about this before. I think she's a real person who is a bit selfish and feels like people should be siding with her.

Just a bit selfish? If she's not a troll, she is Selfish McShelfishface. Playing the tiniest violin ever made.

Do you not realize that things often come up at the last minute in elder care? That is part of why it sucks. I guarantee you your sister had to do a tons last minute.

You suck, OP. 1.5 hours?? You can do that multiple times a month, easy. Take your kids with them if they are so young you can't leave them alone. Skip their stupid soccer practice or whatever. Step up, just like your sister did for more than FIVE YEARS

I live on the West Coast where plenty of people have a 1.5 hour commute every day. I even knew someone who lived in the Shenandoah Valley and commuted to DC every morning after riding her horse and parenting her kids. You could visit your mother and help out, but you don't want to.

Your mom is in a CCRC, the CCRC takes care of most everything, that's why people move into them. Too long to read the other replies, but you need to know what she signed up for.

Why would it be solely your sisters job to care for your mom?

Your sister abdicated responsibility because the burden fell solely to her and you were happy with that arrangement. If she shared her plan you would have done anything to stop her. You should have prevented it by being more involved in the first place.

She could have asked for help or we could have hired it.

Why didn’t you OFFER help and why don’t you hire help now?

Are you a troll?
