Relax it is based on AI and math. Do not worry it all gets worked out in the end. |
I beg to differ. A look at the 2024 common opponents, W/L and margin of victory: as things stand today there are three tiers of play here (really 4 but I did not look into the lowest tier. From the other 2024 thread and written pre Briar/Freedom game: The question on the table here is how good is FSR and what do this weeks games mean for them. First, I do not believe FSR will win much less be that close (10+) vs. Riverside. If they can keep it under 7, this is a good sign for the strength FSR. Anything over 10 is a very bad sign. This comes down to how good is BW and what does a FSR win or loss there mean. I believe FSR needs to blow out BW (7+) to mean anything. BW took a thumping from Battlefield and had a 1 goal game with Patriot. This puts BW significantly behind Riverside and the Indy team that loss by 2 to Battlefield. In Loudoun alone, this puts BW below Broad Run too who has some nice large wins to date and is 5-0. Another common opponent here is Dominion with FSR and Indy. Indy was +10 vs Dominion and FSR was +1. If you extend that to another Dominion game, Dominion was only +1 vs Loudoun County High. The comment that "FSR is a complete team at 6a" is laughable. They are having trouble with 4a "mediocre" teams. A close game between FSR and BW only solidifies that they are in the third tier of Loudoun and not even close to the top tier of NOVA as a whole. In ranking Loudoun by itself, pre game: Tier 1) Riverside - also included in/AT top tier of NOVA Tier 2) Broad Run, Indy- #5-10 rage in NOVA Tier 3) Dominion, FSR, BW, LVHS, LCHS, Woodgrove, Champe - et al. This is based on wins and interplay between these team this year in regular season (not scrimmages, LOL). For either team to set itself apart from the other tier 3 schools in LoCo, a clear and convincing win (+10) is necessary tonight. However, I will say that FSR can play a +5 to 7 win with BW and then follow it with a "close" +5 loss to Riverside, they could be considered for a jump to Tier 2. Otherwise, a close game is seen as two average teams battling it out. |
I think if you incorporated the Loudoun teams in the 6a weekly poll, Riverside and Robinson would be 1a and 1b. Indy probably slots in behind Battlefield and maybe as far back as just behind Langley. Still early on and play on the field will determine everything. Just think thats where it would be today. |
I am the PP above- Yes Riverside #1 a/b with Robinson, unless Robo loses to Madison this week. I would put Indy behind #5 Battlefield and above #8 Oakton/ #9 Freedom, so yes 6/7/8 range. I would put Broad Run in that range 6-8 too. |
Yes it was a scrimmage but Indy got absolutely destroyed by Langley. It wasn't even close. There is no chance they would be ahead of Langley, which is currently around #7 and would drop to #8 if you add in Riverside. Indy would be #9, Broad Run maybe #10. |
First, I never said anything about putting Indy/ BR ahead of Langley, but now that you mention it, they should be! First word is SCRIMMAGE….. Either they count or don’t, just like off-season. No prep, all players playing etc. Next it is how are you playing today? That is what rankings are- where are you TODAY and not whee were you in the preseason! Langley got killed 3x and currently has a losing record. The 6a ranking guy obviously has a soft spot for Langley. They are not playing well right now! With full teams up and running and now prepping for games, they were exposed by Robo and the MD teams as having no D or G. Beyond wins vs two weak teams they have been doubled up by everyone with any quality. Madlax dropped them from the top 20 and even past the “also considered”. Stop talking about scrimmages in what looked like a driving rain and go teach the boys some D! |
| what is Indy's best win? |
Good question. Their best win was a loss to Battlefield. |
| Seriously, what is the best team that Indy has beaten ever? |
Dominion. Based on score dif they are better than freedom. |
Wow that’s some resume. Move over Robinson and Riverside. |
|
Why did this conversation move to “what has Indy done”? I believe the posts were about ranking in Loudoun and NOVA for BR, RHS and Indy.
It seems like a Langley parent, why are they on a Loudoun thread, weighed in and is offended that they won a scrimmage against Indy, but are 2-3 in regular season and questioning their ranking based on a pre-season game. I don’t get this obsession with one team, and why that one team would not be RHS |
| I'm calling it here.... Freedom 11 - Riverside 9. |
I agree, Freedom at home is dangerous. Ask Briar Woods how that went. Eagles will be 5-0 after tonight. |
Indy invites the discussion of what they have accomplished (or not) by politicking for a top 10 ranking. I doubt that Langley parents consider a scrimmage against an unranked team such as Indy to be significant in deciding their own ranking. If they do, then they are a bit clueless. |
