Ah yes, a big budget film is totally in the works.

Makes so much sense, given all the success, awards and readership.

No actual publisher so no rev share there!

The author's PR person must have started this thread and keeps it going.

Perfect library book to check out this summer- don't spend a dime but you get to read the book.

Dude, if this is your main marketing tactic, good luck.

Meanwhile, I have better things to read. Hard pass.

I’m a Sidwell parent and I’m going to check it out from the library. I’m curious…

Taking down elitism and racism at a fancy private school... cutting edge stuff!

I bought the book. I thought it would be a fun summer read like Prep, which I read many years ago, but it's pretty tedious and all of the characters, including the protagonist, Aki, are awful. I'll probably leave it in a little free library.

I'm a pretty "woke" person, but it's a book about the stereotypes of the worst types of people, being confronted by the stereotype of the most self-righteous kind of people, all in a setting that has virtually no relevance to anyplace any of us have ever experienced. Real beach read.

Yes, but they’re versions of terrible I regularly encounter at parent events, so that’s vaguely amusing despite the clunky prose and editing issues… e.g. “naval” for “navel,” calling “Make Wesley White Again” “five words” (OUCH)

I have not yet tried googling people from the acknowledgements section… hard to see how you handle that with a nom de plume? And is it self-published or smallish press? I can’t tell anymore. She thanks an agent and editors.

Over-titillated, under-delivered. Really poor writing.

Yeah, cause white supremacy runneth rampant at Big 3

Read Mother Daughter Show instead if you just read made up stuff about SFS

Why so many typos?! 😱

I’m trying to read it right now and the writing is truly abysmal. Got to page 60 and not sure I can continue. Verb tense mismatches, incorrect word choices, clunky writing at an early collegiate level…where was her editor? There may be a story here but this “writer” should not quit her day job.
