Just keep at it. It must beat your real life. I’m guessing your spouse left you, your kids hate you and you live alone with 10 cats. |
What a weirdly aggressive response. Where did you go to school? |
| WashU is better than most colleges. Why bother disliking it though. Why not just let it remain neutral? A strong negative reaction says more about yourself here than anything about the college. |
|
The same anti-NEU troll that got the Northeastern thread nuked is going for this one too.
Not sure why this site puts about with the obvious trolling. Of all the colleges in the world, why would you hate on WashU? |
Pipe down NEU booster or else we will all put you in van and take you to a state park. |
| Frankly, I wouldn't give a damn what anyone on DCUM thinks about a particular college. Everyone has his or her own agenda. |

I hate to be such a nitpicker, but I think you may have had an autocorrect issue. I think you meant “Douche”. |
Only hope their kids are better, and they don't educate their kids this way. |
What does the STL stand for. For how hard it is to get in, there are better options. That's your answer. I think it's a good school but it is pretty far down the list for competitive kids on the coasts. |
Didn't read all the many many pages. Simple answer is because it's in the Midwest ! Gasp!!! What will Larlo ever do in the Midwest? |
Could someone explain who is larlo and who is larla? From the usage above, I am guessing they refer to snowflakes? |
| It’s amazing for health/med, but I really don’t know what makes it stand out to any of its peers. It just seems like a fine school. |
| Who wants to go to college in St. Louis, Missouri? Those that choose WashU. |

The haters always have a NE bias. So, start by considering the source.
Have you ever asked a NYC person what they think about the Midwest? They speak about it pejoratively as “flyover” country. In other words, there’s no reason to go there. Period. That means Michigan, Northwestern, Chicago, WSTL, Vanderbilt, and others will never get the love that NE schools get. It’s distaste by definition. It’s also distaste by culture. The NE prides itself in Type-A competitiveness, big city culture, name-brand elites, and prestigious Wall Street and consulting firms. The Midwest offers something else, but whatever it is, it’s not good-enough for NE hard chargers. The Midwest and its colleges might have smart kids, but they’re not as cutthroat as NE students, and for that, the NE marks them as “less than.” |
