What’s going on at Travilah ES?

It’s not about better than. I’m too busy with my actual job to look down on women who work inside their home for whatever reasons they have. It’s just pointing out that the term housewife highlights your advanced age.
I am not reading these comments and inferring they come from females versus males. Why is your every comment targeting women? It’s not ok.
The focus needs to be placed on the well being of the students. For some reason the parents advocating for the principal place the focus on attacking the other parents. The end goal here is to focus on what’s best for the students and all the staff. This is our public taxpayer money at work too.

Our youngest graduated in 2017 so no experience with the new principal but it can’t be possible to be more focused on test scores than the previous one. She and the Stonemill principal had a running rivalry. If one school scored a 95 and the other school scored a 97, it was a mission to get the score up pronto. The kid who scored low got tons of help.

I’m really shocked to hear that scores have been dropping for the past few years? When I was there the parent community was so freaked out by curriculum 2.0 , which was absolutely horrible, that most kids were instructed outside their home either by parents, Saturday school, kumon, mathnasium or at home on line programs. Is the community different now?

I found their rivalry playful. They were really close. Good friends.

TOTALLY different vibe with this new principal. I don't see how any additional training can help. She just doesn't know how to lead.

Thank you, I somehow missed the date and time. I want to be there to support other parents and staff.

I hope wherever she goes next, that she lands somewhere with a parent community that is educated, welcoming, genuinely supportive and has a life outside of stalking the school parking lot. That poor woman. You guys aren't even considered a wealthy neighborhood. One would think you lived in Chevy Chase or McClean with your demands. Even the private school parents at top schools who are actually paying out of pocket for a top notch education don't act like you.

Omg I just nixed considering a house in this area. Not because of the principal but I worry when parents spend this much time on emitting such negative energy. Soooo glad I saw this.

When you're unhappy with a situation and trying to address it, but the person you need to speak with is unwilling to talk, you seek help from someone else, and finally, you get a chance to discuss the issue, is that considered negative?

You are not even part of the community. Are you being positive while thinking the parents are negative?

They're not flushing their money down the drain by getting involved with you weirdos.

Wow I just looked at the staff directory. There are only two teacher names and two former SAHM PTA moms who apparently are teachers now that I recognize. Everyone else from younger teachers that had only been there a few years when we were there to teachers that had been there 10+ years, counselor, front desk staff, etc are gone.
