Me again. Not full ride, but about $12k/ yr and honor college. Although he went somewhere else later, we really liked Rutgers. |
Are you a Maryland resident? |
| Because it's ugly. |
| It’s a popularity contest. If Rutgers had a Tik Tok-worthy social atmosphere and was in a cool city/college town or had a stunning natural setting, its selectivity would go up. Lots of smart kids there but we don’t hear about their tailgates, Greek life or wealth. |
Yes. Does it matter to merit scholar? |
kash didn't attend but a ton of rutgers people have kash patel vibes |

My DC is a sophomore and really likes it, though feels it's "very NJ." Most friends are in state and NJ is a small state, so people go home during the week ofr diner or their parents come by and drop things off.
The multiple campuses are kind of weird but DC likes it. Each one has a unique vibe. |
| Because almost anyone can get in . Not much better than community colleges. |

Priceless comment and accurate. |
how's the dating for him? jersey girls are....a handful. |
The avg stats for students in the business nursing engineering programs are pretty high. |
| Probably because it is in New Jersey and filled with kids from New Jersey. |
You're just rephrasing the question with this answer. Why isn't Rutgers as desirable? Because fewer people apply. Admissions rate is entirely related to the number of applicants. Rutgers average SAT scores are 50 points higher than Clemson's or UTKs - and a lot higher than community colleges! The Southern state schools are hot right now but that doesn't indicate that a place like Rutgers provides a worse education or has fewer internship opportunities. By most measures, Rutgers is superior to a lot of more popular SEC schools. |
