And the athletic teams have also garnered a reputation amongst the other WCAC schools as not having good sportsmanship. I have witnessed this personally and that lack of sportsmanship was condoned and encouraged by the coaching staff.

This is completely untrue. Opposing WCAC fans often talk about how welcoming GC's home environment is. Stop making stuff up.

Do you believe in a sport in which goals are worth 1 and most scores would be both teams scoring around 10-15 goals combined. That when one team winning by 20 goals that it shows good sportsmanship to continue to play and encourage your starters to score late in the fourth quarter? Because that’s what I witnessed on both the JV and Varsity games I watched last season it was a real turn off and made me know we chose right by not sending out daughter to OLGC esprit that is what they consider good sportsmanship.

The size alone makes it a far cry from a MOCO public school. There are many benefits to that, from resources to a “curated” population of families who are willing to pay for education as opposed the hodge podge in a large pu loc where some students ta are just there because it’s required by law.

Really, because 1300 students is such a far cry from the numbers at MCPS, right?

This has to be a joke.

Prep is light years better than Good Counsel.

The difference in commuting to a Gonzaga vs Good Counsel are polar opposites.

Prep has a toxic culture and less advanced classes.

New poster. Not a joke in our experience either. Our son chose it over Prep. He currently attends a T20, turned down another T10, as well as UMD honors. The academic opportunities at GC are second to none for top students who choose to take advantage of them. Their speech and debate team consistently wins national awards. Performing arts program is amazing.

They found their people at GC and enjoyed their hs experiences. The racial and socioeconomic diversity was evident and invaluable aspect of their time at GC.

Our experience too. I can’t get over the misinformation on this thread.

Same. Prep is all legend and impeccable marketing. The opportunities provided do not remotely compare to its competitors.
