Did you gather in large groups for the holidays? A virus may be your post-holiday present

Free, no shipping costs, and if you didn't get the last round, you can double order (just keep placing orders until it tells you you've hit your limit; it knows).

Libraries used to give out tests/masks free, too.

This isn't a hard problem to solve. Demand that it be solved, and it will be. Shrug it off and go without and you take your chances and get what you get, but you put others at risk. That shouldn't be okay with anyone decent.

What precisely is going to be solved? COVID? Eradication of all contagious illnesses? Some of you people live in la la land which is why the rest of us are just done trying to appease you.

Covid is different and you likely already know this. It is much more contagious than other respiratory viruses.

No, my post holiday present is the wonderful memories we made with our family. It was joyful!

You living longer does nothing to appease me, PP. If I had my way, you and your ilk would've been out of the game in the first round.

But you're still here, and we still have to share the space, so maybe you could be taught how to be slightly less inconsiderate. Doubtful, but you can't say we didn't try.

+1 The willful ignorance around covid is strong! People don't want to test because they don't want to know because they don't want to be responsible. Then they DARVO and say the people pointing that out are "in la la land".

We tested despite no symptoms before visiting in person with my 95 year old parent. Because we don't want to inadvertently kill her, but ymmv.

My child got COVID after attending a NYE party. He has to be in quarantine for 5 days.

Per CNN medical expert Dr. Leana Wen, "You could be infected and asymptomatic. You could also be pre-symptomatic, meaning that you could be contagious and could develop symptoms in the days to come. Don’t take the chance of getting someone else sick. It’s best to avoid close contact with vulnerable individuals in the week or so after your high-exposure events."

How may of you are going to self isolate?

Vulnerable individuals who are adults are capable of determining for themselves whether they want to socialize, or if they want to socialize but outdoors or masked. Everyone by now knows how respiratory illnesses are spread, whether Covid or flu, and it’s up to them to decide if they want to risk it by organizing or accepting an invite to a get together.

Sorry to be such a disappointment.

We had direct and prolonged exposure right before Christmas. Somehow the rest of us miraculously avoided it. Multiple negative tests and no symptoms.

did you get a booster vax? A few of my family who got the booster haven't come down with it, seems to have helped.

No. I had planned to but just didn't get around to it before the holidays. DS and DH got the first set only.

A lot of us are still here, living life to the fullest. And you just can't stand it. Four years later and you're still spinning your wheels waiting for the other shoe to drop. Why?

I was at my kids holiday concert and it was amazing how many people where "living their life to the fullest" while coughing their brains out. The worst I have seen in the last 4 years. Thankfully it's more normal now to wear a mask so that's what i did, but none of these coughing peeps.

And you’re still ok. Imagine that.
