Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
| LOL at this thread. Yes, OP please go ahead and sue. Report back! |
| I hope families file a class action against Callie, even if they do not have a claim under FERPA, maybe there is a tort claim that is appropriate. This woman is a blight- she harasses school employees and creates the exact opposite of the environment we want for kids in special ed. |
The letter from Gatehouse definitely implied that woman publicly posted all that information online. I would not be surprised if there are multiple fcps representatives on this and other websites actively posting to attempt to deflect blame from FCPS. |
| How do you all know all this? I got the letter yesterday and was wondering what the hell it was. Was planning to call the number for more information. My DD does not have an IEP or 504. Does that mean her information would have been accessed but not published? Sounds like this woman is trying to make a point about her own kid's information being leaked? Or just that others are getting more services than her kid? Can someone tell me the basics? |
I am not from FCPS, and it doesn't matter that she "scrubbed" the data or whatever--she knowingly received thousands of kids' private information and didn't destroy/ return it. Instead she turned it over to others! (Offense #1) who then posted scrubbed versions (Offense #2) and who knows who else has it???. I am angry about the laxness with private data from FCPS, but I am furious about a person who intentionally misused that data. I know nothing about her or her agenda, but this is unequivocally wrong and pointing fingers about who else is to blame doesn't erase that fact. |
I am very interested in suing FCPS. I don't think they will stop being careless with student data until they lose in court. Without compromising anonymity on this site, could someone perhaps contact an appropriate legal firm and share information on how to contact those lawyers? |
I agree. I still hold her to blame as well, as she should have removed and redacted more information to protect the students while she made her point. But FCPS needs to be sued by all 35,000 families |
|
I love that FCPS is orchestrating a smear campaign against this woman. Wonder how much that cost them to hire people to attack her. Everyone here is falling for it. GO to her website- she did not post things about your children.

That just diverts resources to the law firms defending FCPS. The law is already there, FCPS already knows what they need to do, they messed up. But I agree with PPs that people like Callie who weaponize FOIA are creating these "gotcha" moments that wouldn't otherwise exist. It feels a little like entrapment -- she bombards FCPS with requests and then just waits for them to screw up. The comment above about shining a light on due process doesn't even make sense. The hearing officers are appointed by the state, not FCPS and definitely not on their payroll. The truth is there's a very low number of parents who win because if they have a good enough case, it settles before ever making it to the hearing. |
Oh please. She is wrong here. I don't see why you don't get it. Are you okay with a parent taking the private data of 35k kids and sharing it with ANYONE? She did that. I don't care what her website shows now. |
I would prefer Callie to have my kids data than FCPS. I got a letter too. I want to know who else inadvertently got it that I have never ever been told about. Callie at least told all of us. |
Why the hell does she think she can "make a point" with kids' data. She needs to be sued. |
What ? FCPS is the source of the data and has rights to it as the public school system. If you don't want them to have your data, don't go to school. I don't want some random woman having my kids' data. |
Ok Callie. |
More Callie. |
