Yes. This is what people don’t realize. Thousands and thousands of people could sue them for $10,000 each. They literally could go bankrupt and have their wages garnished for the rest of their lives. This is why they cannot leave to do it. |
I think they should just say F it, leave TX, get it done, and never zone back. Then tell Paxton, Abbott, and Cruz where they can stick it. Be an example of not putting up with this insanity. Don't let the bastards win! |
Just leave the poor women to twist in the wind, I guess. |
Well she didn’t think the law was so bad until she came up against it! |
Plenty of people have left the state and told their stories. Have people turned them in and collected their bounties? |
Isn't Cruz up for reelection in 2024? Dems need to.keep abortion front and center in every state. This is mbarbaric! |
Who wants to test it? It’s a 10,000 dollar bounty AND you can’t recoup court costs no matter what the court finds. Oh wait I think the accuser can, but the accused can not. That’s how the law is written. It’s is extremely punitive for the defendant, with no recourse if they are falsely accused. |
Disgusting. And they keep voting these people back in. |
Not at all sorry that our plan to move there 12.5 years ago fell apart |
I am waiting for DCUM's resident republicans to comment. They've been awfully silent about it. |
Look who else they voted in - this is one of the Supreme Court judges who forced this woman to remain pregnant with her doomed fetus despite grave risks to her. He’s up for reelection next year. ![]() https://www.texastribune.org/2012/07/13/questions-qualifications-ethics-texas-court-race/ |
They have their lives, jobs, family in Texas. It is NOT EASY TO MOVE STATES, where the F should they go? Yours in incredibly very simplistic & unrealistic thinking. They should keep speaking out and WE need to invest & volunteer to flip TX blue. It's all about politics. Not even giving $ to abortion rights groups and certainly not advocating for stupid things like - Just move. It's about changing who holds political power. |
Well if this isn't a motivator for Texans to get registered to vote and to show up, I don't know what is. I'm looking for a good voter registration group to give to but really, this is up to Texans. |
Two of the Texas Supreme Court Justices have Democratic challengers this cycle. Feel free to rage donate.
POS Republican John Devine of the famed 10 Commandments and post above is being challenged by Democrat Christine Weems, currently the sitting judge of the 281st Civil District Court in Harris County Texas. https://www.weemsforjudge.com/ Republican Jimmy Blacklock is being challanged by Democrat Randy Sarosdy, a trial lawyer for thirty years and a judicial educator for fifteen years. https://randyforjudge.org/ |
How is any woman, anywhere, supporting Republican candidates? How does a Texan woman pull the lever for someone who put these laws into place. In 2023? |
