We need massively stepped up criminal enforcement and convictions in DC

Goulet would have been a better choice than Frumin

Folks get the government they deserve.

Yeah, for those of us who felt glimmers of hope during tony williams, this is too much. I agree this city should be 'administered' by the Feds. - DC Native

Anthony Williams was the best thing to ever happen to DC. I have been here since the 90s. Its unreal how his leadership changed perceptions, investments and long term thinking. He is the one who had the vision for remaking the Anacostia waterfront--now we have the Wharf, Cap Riverfront etc.

+1

She's up for reelection next year.

Yikes, all manner of vehicles being stolen/jacked in broad daylight

DC also has a youth curfew.

It's only in a few areas and does not have very robust enforcement.

That's talking about focus areas for a pilot of a different enforcement approach. The curfew is city wide.

This is interesting. Wonder how enforcement will go?

Technically but it is not enforced that way. Even in the pilot focus areas it is not really enforced. The number of kids picked up is in double digits.

Low double digits. And kids are immediately released to a parent or guardian.

A woman was followed from the metro by a group of men in Navy Yard and robbed this evening. Very scary.

I should have been more specific, PG enforces a youth curfew. DC obviously does not.

We simply cannot live with the carjackings, property crimes, shootings, and chaos with no consequences for the perpetrators.

Who in local politics can make this happen?

OP: you are a RACIST!

OP here. What did I say that was racist?

What you are proposing - arresting and imprisoning so-called criminals - will result in a higher percentage of BIPOC peoples behind bars, compared to whites.

Don’t you agree that will be, per se, racist?

You can’t argue with the demographics of those who commit crime in Washington DC. It is what it is.

Worthless if not enforced.
