School board results?

Sounds like a school/teacher problem. Not FCPS. My kids have homework.

Maybe they would have had a chance.

This.

Until the Republican party as a whole comes to its senses, they are never going to win among an educated population.

They got bold and started saying the quiet part out loud. These are not new opinions. I hope they keep being honest about who they really are. There are no senses to "return" to.

This.

And here is something I also believe -- the amount of nonsense posting on DCUM made me MORE likely to support democrats, not less. The board went to high hell over the past year.

OK, glad to know you so easily dismiss the concerns of others as nonsense.

We will return the favor when you invariably complain about something going on within FCPS in the next four years, courtesy of the same folks (or types) you keep returning to office.

It's easy to dismiss mean spirited for right propaganda by those who don't even live in Fairfax county, apparently

What are you talking about? The only person who raised a lot of funds outside the county was a democrat. The people who ran were local and running on local issues. Frish was the only person aspiring to something outside the county.

Except that it's actually FCPS's policy and is an actual school pyramid of FCPS. So it would fall under this new board's oversight.

I am a Fairfax resident and my kids are in AAP. So, no, I don't buy your astro-turfing either.

It's terrible. I will say what shocked me was that I am HAPPY with the schools. My kids have homework. They are thriving. Our schools are fine.

The amount of discord showing on this board made me incredibly skeptical. If the posters even tried to sound normal, I might believe it, but they got crazier and crazier.

You understand that this board is trying to dismantle the AAP program correct? Even if your kids get through, others won't because the program will be removed.

Also 7:21. That is not what the records are showing. They are showing drops in children's abilities. So your AAP classroom might look rosy, but the bigger picture of FCPS is showing a downward trend.

I voted all D eventhough I don’t really know each of them. I just don’t trust any R candidates after the J6, stolen election, CRT hyped to get Youngkin elected (then this topic dissapear soon after he won). The R has some good talking point in the campaign, but I just don’t believe they can do the job, they don’t have my trust. Also the level of fear mongering here is astonishing. I am glad the silent majority in this forum didn’t buy it.

Right. Even Youngkin didn’t support this batch of R candidates. Womp womp.

Run people more concerned about a kids pronouns, banning books, and the like and I am not voting for them.

This isn’t hard. Run on reasonable changes and I’ll listen. Run on MAGA talking points and I am not voting for you.

Yes, exactly

Did you vote for the independents then?

I am the poster who was originally quoted. I voted for 2 independents for the at large seats. I have voted split ticket many times in my life, but not since Trump was elected. I can’t trust the rest of the Republican party even if I like a Republican candidate. The party is controlled by a slim majority of nut jobs that everyone else is catering to and those people want to take control of my body and burn books. No thank you.

My 3rd and 6th grader also have homework every single week. This sounds like a local elementary problem, talk to your principal.

Excellent point. Aren’t the people who were screaming about “CRT” upset that Youngkin isn’t doing something about it?

Or maybe it was BS all along.

Why do you think that?

But why didn’t you look into the I candidates? I think most voters don’t research any candidate- they just vote the D sample ballot - and I think that’s a mistake. I was hoping we could get some less political board members (many of the current board are very political rather than education-focused) so I voted for 2 independent for at large but nobody else did.
