Run people more concerned about a kids pronouns, banning books, and the like and I am not voting for them.

This isn’t hard. Run on reasonable changes and I’ll listen. Run on MAGA talking points and I am not voting for you.

We are far outnumbered here.

I just hope there are a few more moderate opinions represented on the new board.

They are more moderate. And Rs lost bc they have gone off the deep end.

I like the three at-large board members, wish them (and us) all the best in the next four years!

And the Democrats now control both the Senate and the House of Delegates. Total defeat for sweater vests everywhere.

Every precinct zoned for McLean, whether in Dranesville or Providence, voted for the Democratic candidates (Lady and Frisch). The Republican running in Dranesville (Bartkowski) only won one precinct, which was in the Langley area (Forestville). The Republican running in Providence (Sabio) may carry a weapon, but he isn’t carrying a single precinct.

Aren’t there still a lot of precincts without any results? And Cooper was 50-50.

Vega is trailing. This is a progressive county. No one was ā€œscared awayā€ by the fearmongering. The R candidates sucked.

This. They were awful. If the Republicans put up competent candidates and not political shills, I would have happily voted for them

Maybe they would have had a chance.

This.

Until the Republican party as a whole comes to its senses, they are never going to win among an educated population.

Yep

NP. I voted for two Dems who had done well in the past and the math and science teacher running as an independent. I think a couple teachers on the board would be great and am glad Robyn Lady, who was a very well regarded Chantilly HS Admin won. Would have considered the independent school IT guy, but hard to take ā€œmore printing options for teachersā€ seriously as one of his top priorities.

DP. I voted for the independents. No one else did though.

Oh well. Now I know who to email and call and make my opinions known. Starting tomorrow morning, bright and early.
