There are many age and occasion appropriate clothes for girls, but, if they are deliberately dressing to be sexy, well then, people are going to look at them because they are sexy, and the opinion about them will be that they want sexual attention. That is all.

Mostly the girls who are dressing like this are coming from messed up families and they are fair game to many boys who are also from messed up families. The generally decent boys and girls may judge them but they stay far away from them. They won't touch these people with a nine-foot pole because who wants to deal with a dumpster fire?

Homecoming is an appropriate event to dress to be sexy. It's not visiting grandma in the old folks' home.

How about instead of saying moms want their teens to be sexy or other moms want their teens to be “kids” how about you just let the teens decide who they want to be and what dress they want to wear and even better, STOP JUDGING!!

Except that our courts and legal system have made a clear delineation between 14 yrs old and 18 YO. Why is any parent pushing "sexy" on their underage, minor 14 year old DD? My DD is 14. She is not past coming of age and is still a kid. She may be 4 years away from adulthood but 4 years is a long time in the life of a child.

Why are you moms trying to make young girls "sexy" adults? It's this idea that I have an issue with. It's this mentality that has made child beauty pageants so big in this country.

If a boy came into class with baggy pants showing his underwear, gold chains, skinhead, goth gear, or any other trend, society at large would make assumptions about their education, class, and background.

I won't hire someone who cannot dress professional for in-person or zoom whether it be male or female. The idea that ONLY females are judged is such nonsense. It just so happens that females are the most likely of the two sexes to be dressed half naked, which makes this issue come up more often. I don't know any men who dress in short shorts, tank tops, or clothes with holes in it. No heels, makeup, plastic surgery lifts or implants. These trends are all female promoted by females.

I know the girls in our high school do not wear cheap dresses like Windsor to events. They wear Zimmerman, Alice and Olivia, Self Portrait, any of the new designers. They will have cut outs and will be short but don’t look as cheap as the literally cheap Chinese dresses.

I was shocked at the long line of girls and their moms waiting to get into Windsor at Tyson's on Saturday. Why spend that much time, just buy on SHEIN. Saw several out at restaurants on Saturday night. They were spending half their time pulling/holding their dresses down so they wouldn't flash the world.

NYC. The middle schoolers will wear the sneakers with dresses. Not so much the older girls. I don’t get the appeal of that squeezing into that material must feel awful

There is every natural inclination to explore the new grown up body especially in relation to attracting the other sex. I mean what do you think is the whole purpose of Homecoming?
