Joe Biden is the best president of my lifetime

So long as Putin controls Russia, Russia will never cease in its effort to control Ukraine.

Prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Ukraine--alongside Russia--was among the top group of the most corrupt countries in the world, but it was a beautiful and safe country. Now it is a ravaged wasteland of destroyed building, destroyed infrastructure, and destroyed lives.

Surely, there must have been a better way to deal with Russia's aggression under Putin.

Biden is a fool. Got the US out of Afghanistan only to turn around and get the US involved in another unwinnable war.

the death and destruction is coming from Russia. The Ukrainians are trying to stop it.

End of story.

Please show where there are US boots on the ground of this "unwinnable war" and what is the alternative, just let Russia "take" different countries? How should that be allowable? Would you be ok With Mexico taking parts of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Florida? Would you be ok with Canada taking New England and the upper plains states? What is acceptable to you?

Yowza. You have some learning to do. Your whole entire post shows your utter ignorance but that last line is just *chef’s kiss.*

Inflation in the US has been significantly better than all other rich countries. Biden has been a steady hand.

OP, I was born in 1972 and I agree. Obama is tied though because the ACA has allowed me to be a successful entrepreneur. I’m a woman, I’ve doubled my income and I employ on average 10-15 people a year.

You write well for a two year old.

That’s the fourth time this “joke” has been made. It’s not really a substantive joke and it ignores the substantive post OP made. Which - repetitive and ignoring the substance of an argument - is rather the essence of 99% of the regressive posters on this site.

I'm a Gen X Rockefeller Republican with libertarian tendencies that campaigned for bot Bob Dole and Barrack Obama and I agree with the thread starter.

Who would you say is, then?

Reagan. Then Trump

The question is who is the best, not who is the worst. Re: the latter I nearly agree with you, but in reverse, and then Reagan is tied with Nixon.

So what does that mean? You don't offer good health insurance to live on and your employees depend on ACA's astronomical rates?

If he would do more to influence “law and order” in urban areas, quite frankly. Sort of related, he needs to use the bully pulpit more to make irrelevant the progressive wing of the party.
He does this and he’s definitely the best president over my 50 years.

Clinton was fine but really disappointing he didn't achieve more with what he was given. He squandered a huge peace dividend after the fall of the Soviet Union. He implemented NAFTA (with no plan to address how it would decimate manufacturing jobs) and deregulated Wall Street (by repealing Glass Steagall) and allowed the dot.com bubble build - the first two of which contributed directly to the GFC as well as the populist surge we've seen in the last 15 years. He represented the worst aspects of meritocracy and the revolving door between industry and government -- smart people that thought they were too smart for main street and leveraged their influence and government positions to make money after office. He also was a centrist and contributed to the Republicans tacking right. That's not his fault but it's an indirect consequence of it.

Obama was not ready and relied way too much on the Clinton folks when he presided. He spent his political capital on the ACA rather than holding the banks accountable for the GFC and after two years, was in a holding pattern for the next six years. He got us out of the GFC and implemented the ACA but not much else. That's not his fault but it failed to recognize that you can't just implement policies and expect citizens to reward you for them. You have to sell those policies and make sure to claim credit with good messaging. Biden recognized this.

Biden has done more to implement direct policies to aid the working and middle class than any President in my lifetime. He implemented the Inflation Reduction Act and Chips Act designed to bring back manufacturing to this country, not to mention the largest Infrastructure Act in history. Is he perfect? No. But, GD, give the man credit for getting us out of the COVID slump and actually trying to make a difference. He's actively trying to help unions. He's about to reschedule marijuana. He also got us out of the quagmire that was Afghanistan and has not directly embroiled us in in Ukraine (the cost of turning a geopolitical adversary into an afterthought has been remarkably cheap and free of American lives lost). He also reaffirmed our ties to NATO. He's probably the best President on foreign policy since Reagan. And he's doing this all in the face of opposition that has gone completely off the rail to even aiding and abetting traitors.

I used to doubt the whole Ukraine endeavor. But then I thought where has US diplomatic and military support proved crucial for a young democracy’s survival. Israel. Israel has and continues to defeat those who seek to destroy it. Ukraine is in the same boat as Israel was at the time of its creation. Due in large measure to our steadfast support a strong democratic ally has thrived in what remains a largely hostile environment. I now view our support to Ukraine in the same way, that just like Israel is a beacon of light in their region, so too will Ukraine be after their threats are defeated.

She said what it means. It allowed her to be an entrepreneur.

Do you think you just start a new small company and deploy a dozen people immediately? It takes years of blood sweat and tears to get there and if you are trapped a a job to get healthcare, you never even begin.

I was born in 1962, and I think Joe Biden is the best president I've ever seen. If he gets in for a second term, I bet he'll try his damnedest to do as much as he can about global warming.

Uff da. Is Ukraine slaughtering people within their country like Israel does to the Palestinians or… “Beacon of light” my foot.
