| This is the registrar. I meant to say Change of Choice, not COSA. |
| If the documentation is included and the new address is confirmed, the request will be approved. The issue of the bullying / documentation was not in the original post. |
| Op needs to speak to the Blair HS principal. It is unlikely she is going to get a COSA unless the bullying was well-documented AND attempts to address it failed last year at Northwood. |
| Change of Choice, not COSA. |
| Blair has about 3400 students. Do you really want your child in a school that large? |
|
OP has not come back to confirm whether the bullying documentation was submitted.
And no, you do not “stop by” to see the registrar or principal. You make an appointment. |
Obviously OP does. OP moved house so their daughter could go to Blair. |
| What does COSA stand for? |
Change of School Assignment - it's the general form for going to a school other than the one your home is zoned for. In the DCC it's a Change of Choice because of the way the DCC operates. |
Interesting. Approximately what % of the Change of Choice requests were for Blair? |
| 4500 COSA requests for MCPS, not for the DCC. |
| COSA is a different form from Change of Choice. Make sure you fill out the correct one. |
| And attach relevant documentation! |
Seriously? There are hundreds of people who actually moved so their kid can go to their preferred school after a COSA is rejected? I doubt that. Most people are not that persistent. |
+1. I have lived in the Einstein cluster for well over 20 years and had a kid go through Blair HS. I have literally heard of no one selling a home in one part of the DCC to buy a home zoned for Blair just so their kids can go to HS there. I'm sure it happens, but I do not think it is common. |
