Anyone?

Did his rich parents hire Trump’s lawyers to drag this out?

The kids are still dead. Time to move on.

So no justice allowed for the families of the innocent victims? Sheesh.

It's definitely the Trump approach to trials - try to drag it out as long as possible so witnesses' memories become foggy and less reliable, police officers retire & move out of the area, the case gets bumped to new prosecutors who have to start over from scratch and lose institutional memory, etc.

If you have money, you can drag things out for a loooooooooong time.

Pretty standard tactic. Come up with a last-minute reason for delay, judge will have to find a new chunk of time on the calendar, and sometimes he or she won’t have anything available for months.

Why does the judge keep accepting delays? Can't the judge put their foot down and say "enough"?

I'm guessing they will seek another delay in the next few weeks.

Trial judges can do whatever they want for the most part. Some will resist any schedule changes and some don’t seem to care much. My guess is the judge here won’t grant another delay; it’s been nearly two years at this point.

After Easter and before summer holidays. My guess is the Judge has no other plans and the trial will go forward.

Where is the accused? Has he moved? Gone to college? Way back I made a sarcastic comment on dcum that Usman was unavailable (I recall the arrest took a frustratingly long time -and he turned himself in) because he was at Beach Week. Maybe I wasn’t too far from the truth.

Absolutely shameful that Usman walks or worse, drives freely among us. Menace.

Given the history, I expect another extension.

I am sure he's keeping an extremely low profile. With an impending trial he's probably the most cautious driver in the county, if he's driving at all. Should he win at trial, however...

Trial is supposed to start tomorrow assuming no further delays.
