in what state? |
If he did it on purpose then he should get the death penalty BUT this would give him endless appeals so life without the possibility of parole. Vehicular homicide is no different from murdering someone using a gun or knife. |
well, there is no evidence that he intended to kill two girls and injure a third. He was recklessly disregarding the danger that he created by driving 81 mph in a 35 mph area where kids are getting out of school and other people are driving at a normal speed. His charges would never amount to first degree murder. His case, as horrible as it is, is NOT the same as someone who intentionally runs over their ex-spouse in a fit of anger or retaliation. |
So is low IQ the reason for thinking ok to drive that fast in that location? Drugs? Alcohol? I mean, come on...he KNEW what could happen. |
We will never know how intent. |
No. He SHOULD HAVE KNOWN what could happen. And he ignored that risk by deciding to drive super fast. That is NOT the same thing legally as intending to kill two pedestrians. You may think it is equivalent. But, legally, they are not the same. |
PP here. I get the difference. I still think he deserves YEARS in prison. |
Ok. I agree with you. I tried to find his name on the Fairfax Circuit Ct. docket for today -- but I didn't see it. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place... or maybe it's been continued? |
Three years seems probable for a plea agreement. But he’s taking this to a jury so I assume he’s risking five to ten. |
Did the trial start today?
|
A judge would give only 3 years for killing 2 innocent victims?! No wonder people aren't afraid to speed. No real consequences. Shameful. |
If your murder weapon is a car, it’s an automatic reduced sentence. |
This seems so obvious |

Good way of putting it. Recklessly fire a gun and you’ll get 20+, but drive a car at 81 past a school and no one cares as much. |
