Yes. All satire and silliness. We are tired parents whose kids have been through so much these last four years, just like everyone else. Most of us don’t actually eat at Michelin-starred restaurants, or even know where the closest one is located. We needed to lighten the mood when our kids were crying at 7:30 this morning after arriving at Whitman only to be told they had to leave. Of course it’s not the fault of MCPS or Whitman admin. They’re doing the best they can, just as they’ve done for the last four years. They’re rock stars. Thank goodness graduation will be at 6 pm. We want to finally close this chapter and move on. |
Let’s hope the diplomas haven’t been lost. MCPS may have to postpone again. |
You can’t tell me they are actually going ahead with this? Dangerous. |
I'd still rather have it indoors. |
Sorry, PP. It’s been rough for many. I hope the 6pm graduation went okay. |
You know you don't have to go. |
If you thought it was dangerous, you could have just stayed home. Some of us thought it was fine. |
How was the graduation? How was the air? |
Code Red, unless there was a special patch of high-quality air just over Whitman HS. |
Hilarious |
Pathos/appeal to empathy 101 in rhetoric. If you want people, many who can barely afford rent, to take you seriously, don’t launch with whining about Michelin star restaurants. It seriously reads like satire. |
If you can’t get into Olive Garden, there’s always Red Lobster! |
Really? I thought if you didn't go you didn't graduate! |
Just FYI - the graduation was awesome! The speaker and the kid speakers were terrific! Air was pretty good, luckily it was cool and breezy. |
If they kept the school year start date after Labor Day like most districts, then the graduation ceremonies would’ve been a week later and after the wildfire smoke issues. Oh well. |
