I don't know how much a genuine change agent Trone can or will be. I do like the Alsobrooks would be the first black female senator, but a score diversity and identity alone isn't enough for me to vote on. Alsobrooks does seem more moderate and reasonable than other progressives in her party though. But then again, she's got the endorsement of some of those same wack-a-doodles so I don't know.

What's the best case for Trone with regard to crime, public safety and education? Does he have a strong vision to turn things around in those areas that I've missed?

Good point about endorsements. Jawando endorsed Alsobrooks, which makes me question voting for her. We are the company we keep. While I personally like her and I am a PG resident who has voted for her in the past, that endorsement leaves me feeling iffy.

So, only Jawando’s endorsement matters to you? What about other endorsements from leaders like Governor Moore, Senator Van Hollen, and Rep. Hoyer? They leave you feeling iffy, too?

Honestly? No, they don’t.

But I have such a low level of respect for Jawando that THIS endorsement matters.

Jawando dropped out because he knew Wes Moore was about to endorse Alsobrooks. Jawando is only endorsing her to benefit himself. Don't take his enforcement of Alsobrooks as a reflection on her. Take it for what it is: Jawando trying to position himself for a future higher office.

+1

And the only reason Wes Moore endorsed Alsobrooks was because her endorsement of him was key in delivering the PG vote and getting him elected governor.

Obviously racist, and I'm sure you don't care but Trone came from very humble upbringings and is a great success story.

I certainly don't hold someone's success against them, but obviously you do.

“Also-Bowser” is not particularly impressive. Trone is somewhat better but Raskin would have been great.

That's because Trone's opponent is a stronger candidate and will make a better Senator.

I think experience as a Representative in Congress makes for a stronger candidate and a better Senator than experience as a county executive.

Irrelevant. Trone didn’t lie about everything on his resume, hasn’t been indicted multiple times, and has served in Congress well for five years.

And what has David Trone done over the past five years besides sounding like a buffoon?

And what has Alsobowser done, except platitudes?

Two days of silence answers this question.

We have far too many top 1% and top 0.1% in both houses at this point.

Before labeling him, why not try to see what he has tried to do in Congress? He has been a huge advocate for mental health and drug addiction issues, having experienced the death of his nephew form a drug overdose.

My interactions when needing help from his office were great. On top of the request, responsive and solving the issue on a timely basis. This is in contrast with my needing help from Congressmen Raskin's office which did not go as well nor were there as responsive. We got switched from Trone to Raskin due to redistricting.

I would much rather have someone who is charge and knows how to get things done. Who cares if they have money or not?

+1 this was my experience too with Trone’s office vs. Raskin’s. The responsiveness of Trone’s office was far better and more professional. That starts at the top.

House Dem leader (and Speaker in waiting) Hakeem Jeffries announced his endorsement of David Trone today.

Trone gave a lot of campaign money to Greg Abbott. Don't care if it was in his capacity as head of Total Wine. Anyone who has supported Abbott enables Abbot to push his odious policies in Texas. No way Trone gets my vote in MD.

I like Trone better and I love Jeffries, but all that means is that Democratic House leadership is going to support Democratic House members in races for higher offices.

This may be a feature or characteristic but it’s not a qualification for the office.

Trone is a clown. Spending 40 million of his own money to get a job that pays -$230k.

I like Angela. If she’s not the nominee I’m leaving Senate blank in 24.

Trone is a doofus who lacks charisma. I also question how much he knows about Maryland outside of his district.

Trone’s path to victory is to buy the seat by dumping $100 million from his own personal finances. He’s certainly not going to earn it.
