That's because Trone's opponent is a stronger candidate and will make a better Senator.

Alsobrooks is not. She's an underwhelming, superficial politician who presides in a county that the private sector doesn't want to invest in because of the lingering stench of governmental corruption and incompetence. How's that going to work on the statewide level?

What in the hell are you talking about?

I'm having a hard time picking between Trone and Alsobrooks.

I don't know how much a genuine change agent Trone can or will be. I do like the Alsobrooks would be the first black female senator, but a score diversity and identity alone isn't enough for me to vote on. Alsobrooks does seem more moderate and reasonable than other progressives in her party though. But then again, she's got the endorsement of some of those same wack-a-doodles so I don't know.

What's the best case for Trone with regard to crime, public safety and education? Does he have a strong vision to turn things around in those areas that I've missed?

I think experience as a Representative in Congress makes for a stronger candidate and a better Senator than experience as a county executive.

When the first primary debate occurs, it will become quickly apparent who the stronger candidate is, and that candidate won’t be David Trone.

Good point about endorsements. Jawando endorsed Alsobrooks, which makes me question voting for her. We are the company we keep. While I personally like her and I am a PG resident who has voted for her in the past, that endorsement leaves me feeling iffy.

So, only Jawando’s endorsement matters to you? What about other endorsements from leaders like Governor Moore, Senator Van Hollen, and Rep. Hoyer? They leave you feeling iffy, too?

We don't need another old white guy in the Senate, not to mention a spoiled rich one who is out of touch if most of those he'd claim to represent in the state of Maryland

Wow. Such ignorant hate. All those $1 million dollar houses owned by people with mo jobs.

It’s the current mantra of the Democratic Party. Which is why I agree that the powers that be in the MD Dem party will never allow two old white guys to represent the state.

There are two old white guys representing the state in the Senate now. And six of the eight House members are also old white guys.

That’s right. And this is the perfect opportunity for the MD Dem leadership to step in and correct that travesty.

Ah yes, electing people based solely on the color of their skin! So woke.

As if white folks don't vote based on skin color on either side lmaooo

Just because you vote based on skin color that doesn’t mean that everyone else does as well. “White people” are not monolithic and it is blatantly racist to suggest that they are.

Honestly? No, they don’t.

But I have such a low level of respect for Jawando that THIS endorsement matters.

Jawando dropped out because he knew Wes Moore was about to endorse Alsobrooks. Jawando is only endorsing her to benefit himself. Don't take his enforcement of Alsobrooks as a reflection on her. Take it for what it is: Jawando trying to position himself for a future higher office.

Duh. That's what lies beneath every political endorsement.
