Agree. He is simply terrible. He is an arrogant, self-serving fool.

I think he'll have a good chance of winning in this area, but he certainly doesn't have my vote. Cannot stand him.

I dont think he has a good chance of winning a state wide race against people with more accomplishments, more name recognition, and way more money.

I really don't see a way for him to win at all, which makes me think its some sort of "get his name out there" campaign for some future race. All I can figure.

Agree with this. Jawando is an opportunistic career politician. This is the same playbook he used to get the county council position- ran very unsuccessfully for Congress, but ultimately successful in the larger picture because people recognized his name from the many names on the ballot when he ran for county council and threw him a bone (last one in for the four at-large positions). Notice how he was the first mover after Cardin announced his retirement, first mover gets name recognition as NBC4 took the bait and gave him a sound bite on the news. If you look at his bills and track record, he lacks a vision for public service, his vision appears to be a good headline/soundbite and whatever gets him to his next position, which really turns me off. However, he has this slick salesman charm that a part of the voting population seems to like, so he sticks. Has little substance, a lot of grandstanding, but people are swayed by his self-serving style, which is maddening. This guy makes Hans Riemer look good, and that's really hard to do.

The establishment dems hate him though and will probably push for Raskin or Alsobrooks. With Trone running, Jawando is going to get pushed out. He thinks he’s the Wes Moore in this scenario, but he’s not.

I agree. Raskin or Alsobrooks will get the Dems support.

Jawando pulled out of the Senate race today

Fascinating to see a narcissist actually admit he has no chance

Good. I like him a lot personally, but he didn't have a chance.

You seem to misunderstand his goal. He didn’t enter the race to win. He entered the race to get free publicity to increase his statewide name recognition and it worked. He got a positive profile in the Washington Post and was mentioned repeatedly in the same sentence as Trone and Alsobrooks.

Sounds about right. Jawando cares about Jawando.

This. I'm a liberal and agree. Also, he threw a tantrum when his kids didn't get into a lottery school program in MCPS and then enrolled them in private school. Sure, his right to have his kids in any school system he wants, but it was clear he expected special treatment.

Now, Will Jawando is pushing a period bill that no one is really asking for: https://moco360.media/2023/11/15/montgomery-county-council-bill-would-require-businesses-with-public-restrooms-to-provide-free-menstrual-products/

Aside from whether I think this is a bright idea or not, I think it's pretty tone deaf for him to put this bill forth, with no female co-sponsors, as a man.

His legislative strategy seems inept and incompetent at best. His bill attempting to ban traffic stops was humiliatingly gutted by MD Attorney General Anthony Brown so now he's pivoting to passing out tampons and pads to win likes and votes? It all seems desperate.

I’m a woman and a liberal but I think this is dumb unless the county wants to at for it. People will take anything that isn’t nailed down. Some people will just empty the container to take home and then there will be none left for the woman with a legit bleeding wmergency. I’d be happier with a bill that requires or incentivizes having the machines, but with apple pay like most vending machines now have. Or just put them in the vending machines next to the Doritos.

I just can’t stand him though so that might be affecting my view of the bill.

Jawando and Albonez are always claiming racism, but they want to punish MoCo citizens for being White. They’re the worst brand of “woke.” Neither are very smart and they are so full of hate.

Jawando always claims he is being profiled even when growing up. But if he looks at some of his wreckless actions driving, speeding and stopping past a crosswalk, this gives police notice what's up with this driver. Let's pull him over. Then he likes to play the race card. He says "you know who I am" This is going to be the next county vice president.
