Do you parents/ILs pay for

My MIL has offered this many times, and I am considering accepting. our two kids are her only grandkids and the money would be no issue for her. We are careful about accepting other huge gifts (like she offered to buy us a house, which we declined), but I am really considering this one.

My mother paid for DC college tuition. She talked about this for years to anyone who’d listen; she was going to pay for all GC college.
DC was eldest so I gratefully accepted.

She has multiple GC and pledged that she’d do the same for all, but right after DC graduated she decided she wanted to keep her money and so reneged on her promise.

No. My in-laws are multimillionaires and don’t give us anything. Like if we meet for dinner somewhere, they ask for a separate check.

No. My parents are dead / disabled and my in-laws are divorced and pay for absolutely nothing. I have never received a piece of fine jewelry, 529 contribution, school tuition payment, childcare support, or any form of high quality gift from my in-laws who only give cheap crap I usually end up donating or it breaks, nor do they ever take me out for nice meals or on vacation. We get zero from them. The one thing I kept was a pretty set of handpainted mugs and a pretty wall mirror once. In 14 years.

No. My parents are broke. I don’t know how they’re going to survive; it keeps me up at night.

My mom expects us to pay all of the time, and she loves to brag about how rich she is.
