Well, I guess the Army and Air Force are going to receive an uptick in recruits!

If they are persuaded by someone in drag, they are not suitable to wear a military uniform.

It will backfire just like the Bud Light advertisement.

Why? Because people are homophobes?

Not everyone is a homophile.

Some just want to be left alone.

They don’t have to watch the ad then. They’d only see it if they were watching the drag performer’s content already.

Given how this is being popularized online more will learn about it and determine if they want to be associated with the US Military or not. I imagine it will mesh well with some demographics and others will be turned off by it.

If you view the us military as a giant jobs program, you probably won't care since mega corporations are doing the same thing. If you're a paytriot, it might turn you off.

I'm sure the military knows more about effective marketing than me.

How is a gay service member doing outreach to (presumably) other gay people not “leaving you alone”?

It’s being popularized because conservative media is calling it out to prey on their audience’s homophobia.

You know who is watching the ad, though? China. Russia. North Korea.
And, they are laughing their asses off.
*This* is a priority for our military? *This* is what they use to enlist more people?
What an f'ing joke. This will not help recruitment. It will HURT recruitment. And, we will continue to hear about how recruitment numbers are down and our leaders will mindlessly shake their heads in confusion.

Why is it a joke? Why will it hurt recruitment? Say it.

Kind of hard to pack your "drag" clothes in a duffel bag along with your military uniforms.

Wonder if the Afghanis would make them "cover" when in drag?

Are you gonna give a real answer or just be nasty? You know this guy isn’t doing drag while he’s in a combat zone. So explain to me what is ACTUALLY wrong with it. I want to hear your answer.

Do you really think a persona changes when in a combat zone?

Doubtful. I think they’re even more intimidated by a military force where even the trans women are warriors. That’s a psychological advantage to us.

What does this mean? Drag is a performance. It’s acting. You get that actors don’t behave like their characters every minute of their lives, right?

I know you understand that. So what’s the real reason you have a problem with this?

Good riddance!!!!

It’s about time these racist rednecks didn’t have a refuge in the military. They should’ve been purged out long ago.

Wow. What a totally bigoted statement. And, you are calling "southern boys" racist?
Are you aware that a good number of those "southern boys" are people of color????

Oh STFU and get over yourself. You know very well whom I was referring to when I said good riddance - and you know I wasn’t speaking about POC from the south in our military. I was talking about the white racist redneck types. They’re the ones that need to be drummed out of the service. We don’t need them and when the time comes to crack down on rebellious states in the south and west, these people cannot be counted on. Get rid of them.

And while our enemies might try and put up a dumb fake front about "ohh LGBT soldiers" deep down they are intimidated by a military like ours that they know has the discipline, rigor and training to stick to business even if there are LGBT+ soldiers, rather than playing grabass and humping livestock like ISIS and the Russians do.

The military has always been our most progressive institution. We dragged ya’ll into integration and we’re going to do it again with gender identity. The haters will adapt in 40 years. The military knows that everyone brings something to the table and $hit gets done when everyone works together.
Anonymous
The military is not mostly Southern white boys. It’s one of the most diverse institutions in America. It’s not an appropriate place for racists and fascists.
