Frumin vs. Krucoff vs. that Libertarian

Frumin managed to take literally every side on this issue during the Ward 3 campaign, but is still getting my vote over Krucoff.

I don't think he literally took every side to the issues. He has very nuanced reasoning, so if you actually listen to him or read the words that he wrote on his website, you can understand his positions quite clearly.

He told DC for Democracy he does not want to increase the number of police. He told the Washington Post that he does want to increase the number of police.

No. He did. Not a fan of Krucoff, but I did have a chuckle at his flyer calling him out on that. Frumin is Mary Cheh 2.0.

Well, let's see, under Cheh, every Ward 3 school and library had a renovation, all but one community center had a renovation, we have a new outdoor pool, a bunch of Main Street organizations, all sorts of international leading environmental measures and a progressive DDOT. Cheh was also on the cutting edge of HPV shots for teens and pre-teens.

If Frumin is anything close to Cheh, I would say bravo!

The school renovations were required citywide by a court. That had nothing to do with her or any other politician.

I want our core government functions to be non-ideological.

the ward 3 schools were lower in the list and she was able to move them up to help with the overcrowding issue.

So is it ideologicalto want to address climate change?
Is it iideological to want shiny schools to attract and retain students in the neighborhood to attend?
Is it ideological to want and get an outdoor poll in the ward?
Is it ideological to ensure kids are vaccinated?

Exactly what is your complaint?

On the Foxhall schools, she admirably took a position, stood up for it, and called out those opponents trying to deceive others. But I can think of a number of other local issues where she tried to be all things to all people and was not helpful to anybody.

So she disadvantaged kids outside Ward 3 who deserved to have their schools renovated sooner? Yeah, that checks out. Normal DC liberal. I'm sure she had a BLM sign too.

The ward 3 schools were renovated and expanded to better accommodate the OOB students who otherwise would not have been able to attend. I take it you don't know these schools very well.

Nope. Those schools were all renovated first. That's how long it took. The ward 3 schools were ther very last ones to be renovated and the whole process has taken over a decade. Im fact it was Ward 3 parents that brought the initial suit that forced DC to renovate all the schools. They waited patiently at the end of the line until it was their turn.

Most of the kids who attend Ward 3 schools don't live in Ward 3.

In another corner, we have David Krucoff, Republican nominee, relatively recent Republican, anti-statehood, anti-bike lane, and anti-Foxhall School. Other than platitudes, it is unclear what he is for.

In yet another corner, we have the libertarian candidate whose inkjet printed signs that lack required financial disclosures indicate that he will end the (nonexistent) mask mandates.

Who you got and why?

Full disclosure: I'm going with Frumin, but the chaos monkey inside me wants to vote for the libertarian who is running opposed to something that doesn't exist. I don't respect the libertarian enough to look his name up, but I do love his campaign that presupposes a reality that doesn't exist.

I voted for the Libertarian. I am an Independent that DC keeps registering as a Democrat. Yes, I am a unicorn that frustrates many because I don’t vote party lines, I vote candidates, their backgrounds, track record and overall position across the issues that matter to most voters.

No one is “frustrated” by you. You chose to waste your vote on someone who has no chance of winning and threw it away on a tantrum. We roll our eyes at people like you. And no, your nonvotes have nowhere near the numbers to sway an election, so save that predictable retort.

Ah, the classic you must vote for the candidate who is already going to win because we live in a one-party jurisdiction.

That is not at all what the PP said.

I am voting for Krucoff and in no way consider myself throwing away my vote.

Siddiqui in 3C05) is a vocal proponent of cutting the MPD force and budget. That seems totally tone deaf and out of step with his constituents’ concerns, especially with the rise in violent crime along Connecticut Ave.

I’m a little uncomfortable how frequently Siddiqui casually criticizes “white people” as a group. It’s not becoming of an elected official, especially in theses heated times.
