Going after abortion begins to corrode everything...contraception, fertility treatments, robust maternal healthcare, etc. When you invade private decisions between doctor and patient, the entire system begins to rot.

It’s a deciding factor where my 2 daughters will attend college. The open carry laws were bad but abortion is a while next level. We’re not giving money to a state that deems women as unequal.

We’re hoping things turn around. My child is a junior, so we have a little more time before decisions need to be made.

If Rs take control in 2025, though, that is when our worst case scenario planning comes into play. What happens in 2 months will be a good indicator of where things are headed. Next fall will be VA elections (our home state), so that will be another indicator. She will probably apply to the Canadian program just to see if she can get in. I might start looking at European programs, too-haven’t gotten that far.

For the time being, we are looking at schools in states without a ban. Jersey is looking good 😊 unfortunate that OH and WI had to be removed from consideration. I have some hope for MI.

I live in Michigan and people are pretty fired up, I think the voter turnout is going to be insane. What is frustrating is that we may not even be able to vote for the constitutional amendment that would protect abortion rights.
