40 POINTS?!

Large margins like this usually indicates a small population size.

There are actual numbers in some of the links. Michigan has had almost 14,000 new voters register since Dobbs.

I live in Michigan and people are pretty fired up, I think the voter turnout is going to be insane. What is frustrating is that we may not even be able to vote for the constitutional amendment that would protect abortion rights.

The voter turnout better be insane or we’ll be in the fascist nightmare for a long, long time.

So many people have been uninformed/misinformed/lied to decades. It’s sad that it this what ii took to wake everyone up.
Abortion is healthcare.

Going after abortion begins to corrode everything...contraception, fertility treatments, robust maternal healthcare, etc. When you invade private decisions between doctor and patient, the entire system begins to rot.

The country has majority support for these things, pass the laws.

Vote democrat, and that is what will happen. Carving out a filibuster exception for privacy and civil rights should not be a controversy.

Ooooor, get this, such a novel idea: you can pass legislation with broad support that is filibuster proof.

That only works or is viable when one party doesn't obstruct anything and everything. That has not been the case for a very long time.

They feel very secure that they have adequately rigged enough aspects of voting to keep themselves secure.

That's what I'm afraid of. Conservative women may not yet understand that us liberals can't protect their rights to control their health care and their bodies anymore. They are on their own in their own states. Either show up as a mass and vote for Democrats or continue to learn the hard way until the democratic process has been so rigged that there is no return for these women.

Abortion is healthcare.

There have never been honest conversations about abortion because every media outlet uses b-roll of heavily pregnant women leading up to every piece about it.

This tic of their makes me see red.

They also never follow up on women who had kids they were on the fence about and what happened to their lives. They don’t follow up or even think about what happens to the kids who grow up in homes in which they weren’t wanted. They don’t really care.

Although Glenn Kessler did an interesting follow up with the Republicans who bleated about it being a positive that abortion decisions “were returned to the states” (just like all personal, private decisions are intended to be decided - by state with voting apparatuses rigged by right wingers) and have now supported a federal ban.

A federal ban. This after 184 Republicans voted against birth control. Women and good men had better turn out in the millions to vote for Democrats.

Not sure if comment above if real or just very smart sarcasm, so let me make this clear: I'm a centrist woman who know that US "liberals" are not liberals at all. Actually you're the opposite. You want to bully the Supreme Court instead of doing what every other developed country has done: pass a law through Congress to protect our rights.

Showing up and voting en masse for Democrats will produce a) a Congress that will pass a law protecting women’s rights to control our own bodies and in some states b) amendments to state constitutions protecting same. I am unclear on what your confusion is about.

“Bully the Supreme Court”? Don’t worry, these extraordinarily wealthy and powerful individuals are doing just fine taking away decades-old rights with no accountability to anyone but their bishops and their billionaire dark money funders. If they have to suffer a few sleepless nights with protestors outside, it’s because they themselves ruled it was activity protected by the First Amendment, at least when it was being done to abortion doctors. They don’t need the brain dead Sheeple of DCUM to goose step for them.

Why is this surprising? What do those other issues matter if you cannot even control your own rerporductive life which is of utmost importance.
