My dad was saved from being MAGA, though a lifelong Republican, when my sister needed an abortion for a wanted child who had genetic abnormalities inconsistent with life and had to ask my parents to help her frantically call providers before she was past her states deadline, lest she need to travel out of state. It’s never real for some of them until they see it.

And this is what those douches don’t get. They think that in finally maybe kinda slowly starting to get rid of Trump, they’ll reclaim their party. Their party is forced birth, even without Trump. There’s an inner rot in the GOP that a lot of women can see now.

Though lots of women, like those on this thread bragging that they and all their friends were excitedly voting against their own rights, have deeply internalized self hatred. I guess they ascribe to the “it’s better to reign in hell than serve in heaven” philosophy, but they’re serving in hell and excited about it.

I get what you are saying but really that is just an assumption. People can see things with more empathy when their own loved ones are involved. That’s almost universal. Secrets and lies just distort the issue. Truth needs to be communicated especially amongst family members or else we hamper the ability of a person to see an issue clearly. People ARE ignorant many times so truth is the antidote.

Please. How ignorant and arrogant these men are.

They never think something horrible like a miscarriage requiring abortion or rape could ever happen to their daughters.

But, even if it did, they would then just go to a blue state to get the medical procedure done, never once think about their hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance on their way there. Low taxes and gun rights are more important than a "possibility".
