Totally agree. |
Not missing much. Other than that building facade, it's just a pile of aging buildings and concrete...no green space to enjoy. Disappointing when we toured 3 years ago. |
I hear Harvard is ugly too. No application from us! |
Agree. |
Hah! |
Georgetown employee here just for the sake of keeping things accurate and up-to-date: Georgetown currently requires masks only in formal classroom settings, when class is in session (not library, not dorms, not buildings outside of classrooms) and has not required masks outdoors since early 2021. I’ve seen tours recently—no one is masked. Georgetown does require all students, faculty, and staff to be vaxed and boosted. Fourth booster not required but strongly recommended for those who qualify. If this turns you off, Georgetown definitely isn’t the place for you. |
Hell no, do not enlighten these people. The histrionics are great fodder for entertainment. |
Will students be required to mask in class again starting in the fall? |
This is stupid. Is covid only present in classrooms when classes are in session? Ridiculous. |
s Dear Georgetown Employee, Do your children go to GU tuition free? |
Of course not. But in a seminar your child can pick a seat away fro Coughing students. Not so in j lol argh meeting all’s … also you want to be concerned about circulating air in a large meeting hall |
| Their rules and none seem unreasonable. So tired of the mental health excuse. Get your child to a therapist and a mental health evaluation for medication if things are that bad. And, if they cannot handle taking the tests, maybe they aren't ready for college. |
+1 it’s just theater. And it’s not a fourth booster, it’s a second. |
Are they requiring incoming freshman to have the first booster? There’s really no point if everyone else’s booster is 6 months out of date. Anyone know? |
No, but full classrooms are places where it’s likely to spread. They are trying to strike a balance that doesn’t require masks indoors all the time while also helping control spread. Why not reduce one significant vector? As an employee, I think it’s smart and appreciate the challenge our public health team faces. I wish they would require masks in all indoor spaces, but I recognize that it’s not politically tenable. So I’m glad they’re doing what they can. |
