Georgetown is a dilapidated, boring, overrated dump, so get over yourself. And I am saying this as someone who went there., |
A lot of the elite schools had acceptance rate of 30 40 50% back in the day Welcome to the 21st century granny. |
Suuuuuuuure ya did! |
LOL. Okay. |
You sound like a very angry, bitter person. |
To answer your question, maybe not "had it with Georgetown" - but the GU bashers are positively obsessed. |
Yes, I actually did, unfortunately for me. Hated every second of it. And that was a long time ago. It is worse now. |
Do you attend now too? |
|
We visited a few weeks ago, unofficially for my son who is in HS and we really liked it. I was aware of it when I was in HS in CT and some of our best and brightest students went there.
I think the hater must have had a uniquely horrible experience that is going to be the exception rather than the norm. |
I went to Harvard and my kids are still young. I doubt my kids will go to Georgetown either. I just don’t get a mom getting so bothered by her child’s college application. Just don’t apply to Georgetown then. |
It's ok to get old. It's just natural process. |
| Eh, we toured and found the campus to be dreadful and in serious disrepair. So little greenspace and dated facilities. No interest amongst any of my children. |
How long ago was that? We were there last weekend and everything was pristine. We had also visited St. John's the week before and that was dilapidated, weeds growing out of walls etc. |
I’m old enough to remember Georgetown the college and Georgetown the neighborhood seeming super elite (many posters are too young to remember when Dupont was considered almost cutting edge), and while I have no comment on the academics, Georgetown the college has let its campus become very run down looking. I was there multiple times this past year for sporting events and walked all over campus finding bathrooms and food. |
