| I was raised on WW and Deal A Meal "recipes", which created quite a niche collection of childhood comfort foods (think lots of hollowed out vegetables filled with cottage cheese). But because I was denied a lot of other typical 80s classics, those are my go-to choices, things like Chef Boyardee or Hamburger Helper. I don't feed my family stuff like that but if I'm eating alone, it's all about boxes, cans, and so much sodium. |
I'm with PP. I get the Costco bag and we eat it all. I can fill my plate. 3 spears only for those under 12 that have an aversion to veggies. |
That is the sole reason I don’t eat asparagus. |
I’m the PP-funnily enough, my 2 older kids eat it, if only because I played up that aspect of eating it. Gross humor for the win! |

I'm actually surprised it took this long for the sanctimonious holier than thou people to join this thread. Thanks for ruining what was a lot of fun. |
| Fried egg cooked in butter, white rice, soy sauce and furikake. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. <-- In asian families, this is the equivalent of cereal for dinner. |
When I feed my kids Dino nuggets, I also make them for myself, but I put them in a flour tortilla with ranch dressing and butter lettuce. Let’s see- I make a huge batch of homemade Mac and cheese but add a whole head of steamed cauliflower to the pan and call it healthy. Homemade meatballs in some jarred tomato sauce plus a loaf of take and bake garlic bread is also a staple. You cannot beat the take and bake. It’s better than homemade…at least with my breadmaking skills it is. |
