This is pure blasphemy!!!
In all seriousness, I'm a vegetarian and could never cook meat for $h!t, and I can now do that in the air fryer. For some reason it makes it so much easier.

I think the American college system, with the emphasis on athletics and extracurriculars for college admissions, and portfolios instead of test scores, is a lot of nonsense. We should do it the way many European countries do it and go strictly by grades and test scores. Fewer people should be going to college, and there should be better job skill training for those who don't.

This! Sports do not belong in schools. Schools are for... wait for it... academics. If you want to be an athlete, do it on your own time and dime and join a club.

That isn't just controversial, it's so ignorant. I have ADHD. Damn, I wished I had been diagnosed in my youth and gotten proper treatment. My life is night/day with treatment.

I think adhd is a normal variation on behavior that helped propel society forward (someone had to be the dreamers and the doers!). But now schools want to medicate it instead of adapting the school environment to help kids succeed. (Not that medication is bad, but why should it be the first thing teachers and admins say needs to be done, instead of having special Ed classrooms adapted to adhd kids?)

NP - I’m an adult who was diagnosed with ADD at the age of 35 and taking medication absolutely turned my life around. I have a relatively high IQ, but barely graduated high school because I just could NOT focus no matter how much I wanted to, or tried to. My parents were great - my problems were caused by a NEUROLOGICAL disorder, not them.

I can’t imagine how much worse my life would’ve been if I’d been separated from my friends and put in a special Ed class. You’re thoughtless and cruel to think that would be a better option than taking one pill a day.

I agree up to a point but ….

It is not an either or. As an adult with ADHD who has two children with ADHD and many extended family members with ADHD, yes the right medicine can help a lot. However, we all need to take many other non medicine steps to manage ADHD well (diet, sleep, exercise, executive functioning aids etc., therapy for emotional regulation since people with ADHD extremely prone to anxiety, overthinking and depression. Students with ADHD often need accommodations even within mainstream settings such as extended time for tests due to generally slower processing speeds/ distractibility, seating with reduced distractions, extra help to stay organized and often handwriting waivers. People with ADHD often have coexisting learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and/or dyscalula.

However I agree that it is somewhat neuro typical (normal) as such large numbers of children and adult have very real struggles with ADHD. Yet it is worthwhile helping them to succeed because people with ADHD usually have many gifts to contribute.

What meat are you cooking in an air fryer (she asks apprehensively)?

It’s drivel, I get it’s enjoyable but so is the Internet. People use it to escape just like reading the internet.

Any argument you can make for reading non-fiction you can say the same about surfing the net.

People who get their ego from grammar and spelling are the same people that are having a heart attack reading my opinion.

Do you mean fiction?

Lol yes

So you believe that sitting down and reading Hamlet is the same as scrolling through TikTok?

OK.

😂😂😂😂

Yeah not a controversial argument so much as completely unconvincing …

I think American's who love the Royal Family, and are heavily invested in Royal family news have mental issues. Get a life.

I don't think European athletes belong anywhere on US college teams.

+1
And what irrationally irks me to no end is when professionals in tennis or golf live here in the U.S., train here, even grow up here, etc. and then compete for another country. Go live there, then.

Yes!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ROFLMAO

Says she with no experience of The realities of ADHD that has been well documented by medical researchers for over 110 years now but not well understood until past 20 years …

Our brains are not a black box - there is tons of medical research into neurological differences of people with ADHD (reduced dopamine transmission in frontal cortex that affects ability to organize, weigh up risks, screen out distractions, and self regulate).

Happily people with ADHD also have many creative and other gifts to contribute so it is well worth schools investing in helping these students to succeed.

I don't believe ADD/ADHD or autism/sensory disorders are real.
I think they are social constructed. Made up.
I don't think we have tolerance in American society for eccentricities.

I don’t eat any meat on the bone, no wings no t-bones.

I love chick fil-a sausage biscuits.

If you were a “grammar Nazi” you would have typed “Chik-fil-A” and “T-bone.”

FYI you are wrong about “Chik.” It’s Chick-Fil-A. I think it’s interesting how most people get that wrong.

It is much harder to be a parent now than twenty years ago. The internet is impossible to keep up with and kids are exposed to way too much too young. Even when one has controls on social media at home, many of their friends have access to online porn and worse.

It is depressing that the internet was invented in CERN Switzerland as free platform to enable better communication and cooperation between scientists only a few decades ago and kept free with noble intentions of benefitting humanity, but has quickly morphed into a cesspool for dumbing people down with misinformation and extremist ideas and for nut jobs to promote insane agendas.

I have never been on the dark web and don’t think I could handle the depravity but am grateful to those who do go undercover there and catch pedophiles, sex traffickers, and violent extremists.

Thank God parents who have to help children with these conditions can rely on medical science rather than your prejudices. We can both tolerate even celebrate quirkiness and make sure our children with ADHD/ autism/ sensory issues or whatever are getting the supports they need to flourish.

How do you explain how many more kids have it today? It is SO many more kids and not just because of additional diagnoses. It has to be environmental somehow.
