If you want to protect kids NOW, you secure where they gather.

but what are you protecting them from- wouldnt you remove what is making them at risk?

And let’s be realistic. Governments all over the world have harmed their own citizens. It’s not far-fetched to be concerned about it happening again.

OFGS. Citizens cannot fight against a government with stockpiles as deep as the US.

Look, you all say it's useless to have laws because criminals will ignore them.

Well, it's useless to say citizens should all be armed because the government's arsenal is 100000x as powerful as any "citizens' militia" could be.

A Virginian arrested a few times already for impersonating LE, supposed to be banned from buying a gun, got his hands on assault rifles.

Yet, Rs think it's fine for someone like him to continue buying guns and assault rifles. WTF. You Rs are f*n nuts. Keep this crazy f*er with is assault rifles in VA. Thanks.

And how do you propose doing that?

1) reportedly shooter entered via an unlocked door
2) he easily defeated school officer who was presumably armed. one study found more casualties when school resource officer present.
3) there was a significant delay in police confronting attacker.
4) swat reportedly had trouble fining key to school

Yet texas police did not immediately enter school when they knew there was an active shooter with an AR15.

Are you implying the US government is going to invade another country?

Interesting quote: “ He always had a gun, that's why police took the gun off his hip," Kelly recalled. "But he never acted aggressive toward us,” a young lady said on her way home Monday night. "He would just check ID’s of the drivers coming into the property.”‘

oh please. This guy is a f*n nutjob with guns, pretending to be a law enforcement agent. You really think he's got all his marbles, and you would trust him with assault rifles?

This is the problem with Rs - they cry "mental illness" when mass shootings happen, but when people point out that mentally ill shouldn't have guns you cry "but but the the second amendment!!".

Rs are nutjobs. They shouldn't be allowed to buy guns.

I am sure he will be talking to the governor and other elected officials in a private suite while the police arrest parents outside. We have to take the country back from these psychopath conservatives.

Ironically, when Trump speaks, people won't be allowed to carry guns.

No, guns aren’t banned at the NRA’s annual convention, but attendees can’t carry during Trump’s speech
The NRA did not ban guns from their annual meeting, but the Secret Service says guns can’t be carried where and when former President Donald Trump will be speaking.

I am sure that the Republicans will remind them that more guns = more safety so they will change their mind.
Those are all good guys with guns after all.

i LOVE how this isn't seen as taking away 2A rights but not being able to carry one in a mall is? WFT?

How can they legally ban guns inside the convention if they believe that every person has the right to carry a concealed gun?

They won't let people in with guns, but they fight against businesses requiring patrons wearing masks? Good god.

Yep. And no conservatives on here are even commenting

Pretty much proves they want to limit rights for the rest of us while subjecting us to AR-15 violence, but not have any of this apply to them.

They have not banned guns inside the convention. Just when Trump speaks

Maybe I am stupid but can someone walk me through how it works to have guns allowed overall but not when Trump speaks? I am not a convention-goer so logistically I am not getting how it will work.

Well, read the forums on this site and ask yourself how many leftists sound filled with hate, rage, and unbalanced regarding Trump?

What? That doesn’t answer my question.

You’re at the convention. You’re carrying, because reeeee m’guns. Ope! Trump’s here! What happens next?

What the hell does "reeeee" mean?

Ask the question to secret service.
