Holy Trinity Father-Daughter Dance - Covid

Anonymous
It's been six days. I've heard of a couple of cases in each of my kids classes, but nothing that seems to imply a super spreader. Seems like this was just an excuse to bash the school and father daughter dances, and not the super spreader event many of you are clearly (gleefully) hoping it would be.

More than one school has seen huge spikes after prom or other school dances, another area private had to delay its school musical for a week after an outbreak at least partially tied to a party. The fact is that these things are going to happen, and yes, its frustrating, but why all this anger directed at Catholic schools with relatively small communities? You want to paint the Catholic community as being full of anti-vax, anti-maskers, but these communities are not behaving any differently than most school communities right now.

Nah, as I wrote on an earlier post-- Catholic school children should model exemplary behavior based upon what the Catholic Church + Schools teach. If you cannot accept that- you are Catholic in name only... not in your actions.

Because the assumption is that men, and particularly Catholic men, are, by default, sexual predators and have no business being in the company of girls, even if it's their daughter.

That's not it at all. It's weird and cringey because it reeks of old fashioned views of fathers as guardians of their daughters' 'purity'.

I must be naive. Here I just thought it was a time for fathers and daughters to bond.

It is. The secular left will make up any reason to hate traditions...cuz "old fashioned".

Im very left myself so perhaps still a demon, but no -- it's because it casts the dad in the role of mate, which is incest-y feeling and thus creepy.

Covid has exploded at our DMV school, and it's a different branch than Catholic.
