But reality is Florida needs Disney more than Disney needs Florida. The legislature could reverse this next year, which would still give DeSantis a win among the GOP base and preserve Disney’s special district (and Florida’s typical pro-business stance).

Disney is leaving Florida. They will be followed by the other theme parks.

So Disney is just going to abandon this and then dump 50-100 billion dollars into a new theme park that will take a decade to build?

OK

All of this because some people are mad they can’t talk about sex with little kids.

So the Democrats of Orlando may raise the taxes on the people of Orlando in attempt to make the Republican governor look bad. Sounds about right.

No they will just shut down for 6 months while they wait for the governor to provide government services to the park. You can not run a park without basic services. Any guest questions about the situation will be directed to DeSantis and the republicans of Florida. They made add something about gays, black and Jews are no longer allowed at the park because of DeSantis.

Good luck. It's not like you can just pick up icons like Epcott Center and Magic Kingdom and leave. The Disney logo literally has Magic Kingdom. If Disney leaves where are they going to go that will also give them all of the tax breaks and exemptions from local laws regarding land development, water run off, etc ? Certainly not a blue state since Democrats are against tax breaks for corporations and would be against relaxing environmental laws so that a mega corporation like Disney could move in and do whatever it wants on the land.

Are you 5 that you don't understand the ramifications of this bill? Oh, no, sorry, you are a R.

I guess the alternative is to default on the bonds.

Well, that is the GOP way, create a mess and walk away.

It sounds like Disney should be pleased. Can someone explain why they are not?

It is DeSantis raising taxes again. He needs to pay for his big government plans for thought police and omnipresent government. Let’s face it he will not stop at Disney. All the internal email of every company in Florida need to be reviewed and approved or punished by DeSantis.

Those tax incentives were a bad deal for Disney

Disney does not get tax breaks in Florida! So your post is nonsense.
