Is Putin really crazy, like #45 crazy, or is it mental deterioration?

The more he squeezes, the faster his demise will come, at the hands of his own.

If you look back at his illustrious career from bombing residential buildings across Russia, the Chechen war, all the meddling in Europe, wars in Georgia & Ukraine, and lending a hand in other conflicts, he's neither crazy nor senile. He's continuing with his modus operandi but is being more arrogant about it from all the wealth he amassed and his "success". He feels he can whatever. Is that madness? May be. But the modus operandi is the same it's been the past 30 years.

+1. I don't think he is crazy at all. His maneuvers make complete sense if you look at things from his perspective. Google "The Foundations of Geopolitics: The Geopolitical Future of Russia".

Agreed. Also, it does not matter if he is crazy or not in whatever definition we’d like to use. He’ll continue to do what he does until someone stops him. Is labeling him crazy some sort of plea for empathy? Sorry, he gets none from me. Whether he’s a mean dog or a rabid dog, put the man down. Now.

I don't understand why he wasn't put down years ago. How hard can it be?

It's almost impossible to get to him. He is insanely heavily protected.

What does this mean. They are afraid of sanctions if they attack a neighbor? Good riddance

It's like conservatives who think *Trump* would be bombing Russia are living out some Reagan imaginary scenario in their head back in 1982 or something.

Trump would be congratulating Putin on a job well done at this point. Probably on Fox news. Just like he did earlier this week.

Or like he did at CPAC last night. Republicans are just unbelievably stupid.

He would be better off (win some more traditional republicans and independent voters) if he would just keep his admiration to himself. But he just can't help it.
His admiration of dictators goes to deep. Luckily GOP is too willing to make excuses.

But that doesn't mean that the officials carrying out his orders can't be gotten to.

The people who protect him have families than can persuade at least some of the protectors to cease protection.

I noticed Abramovich’s jet landed in Turkey. This appeared on the Twitter feed that tracks the flights of oligarch jets.

Turkey is one of the few countries that has not closed its airspace to Russian flights. Frankly, they need to keep it open so foreigners can escape from Russia before martial law is enacted.

Is martial law really warranted in this case? Seems very premature, but of course we're dealing with a madman.

He can't have anyone questioning The Narrative. The Duma is in the process of approving a new law that would give you a 15 year prison term if anyone refers to the Ukraine invasion as a "war" rather than a "security operation." Seriously.

Putin and his cronies are high on their own supply. I fully expect the gulags to return. He's the reincarnation of Stalin, minus the battling Nazis part.

The recent phone call with Macron certainly reinforces the impression he is crazy. Did he really think he could persuade Macron that there were no civilian causalities and that the Ukraine was crawling with Nazis?

45 wasn't crazy. He's a narcissist obsessed with power. Same with Putin.

We really shouldn't assume all assholes are mentally ill. It's hard to believe, but there really are people who don't care about anyone other than themselves and their interests, and will do whatever to safeguard them.

Despite the evidence that Putin is crazier now than he was 2 years ago?
