IRL, I see most good looking tall guys dating good looking tall women.

I am the pp and a tall women, and I rarely see tall guys dating tall women. But short guys love me.

DC area has notoriously short men. But if you go in New England, Minnesota, Midwest, even Alabama, people are much taller, including women. ITA with tall men dating tall women, I think it's the biological drive to have tall sons.

I'm the "IRL" PP.. I am originally from out west. I don't know what the DC dating scene is like since I'm married, but yes, my observation is from out west.

I don't know that it's about biological drive, though.

"Generally speaking, men in the Northern Plains states and a swath of Appalachia report the tallest heights, while men in the Northeast and Southwest tend to be shorter."

I’m 5’4” and my height preference is 5’7”-5’9”. I wouldn’t let height be a dealbreaker if a guy was great, but I really dislike dating men over 5’10”. I find it extremely unpleasant. I’ve dated men as short as 5’4” and I much preferred it to dating men over 6’0”.
I know some short women like to be with much taller men, but they look stupid together.

5'2" woman here. ExDH was 5'7". New BF is 5'9". He is the best man in bed I've ever been with, and also had a woman stop chatting with him on an app due to height. I find that ridiculous! But it's OLD so consider it a blessing to not deal with them longer than necessary, and move on.

I'm of average height (5'9") and notice that most women in dating apps mention to not bother reaching out if you're not 6' or taller. FWIW, I understand that if a woman is 5'10" or taller, that she might like a taller partner. But these women looking for guys who are 6' or taller are all 5'0" to 5'8". I don't have a problem with a woman who is taller than me. But wow...have times changed.

If men can be shallow then so can be women and result of this double doze of shallowness is difficulty in finding and keeping good relationships.

I'm 14 inches taller than my wife, and we absolutely look stupid together. But unless I happen to see us in a mirror or photo, I totally forget about it.

As a relatively short woman (5'3") married to a tall man (6'3"), I can say that it does make certain sex positions much more difficult. We can't really do doggy comfortably for example- angle of entry is just too high.

Those women are shallow. Be glad not to date them.

No one pities their single uncle.

More wishful thinking.

Women file for 80% of divorces, so it's men doing the crying there. Men are always the ones comitting crazy acts after a relationship ends. Most women end up dating someone new quickly and move on happily

You're confusing reality with Hallmark movies. Every divorced guy I know wishes his ex would move on.

Boy ain't that the truth!

I’m 5’4” and married a guy who was 5’9”. I always liked and dated tall guys. My ex boyfriends were all taller than 6’ and would probably have weeded DH out on a dating app.

My BIL is 5’10” and complains that there aren’t great women on the apps. I’m sure he has been weeded out at well. BIL earns a seven figure income and a great catch. He is average looking but super smart. I bet lots of women swipe left on him.

How many single 6'3" men are there in the DMV that make over $1m per year and are between the ages of 35-50?

<100?

There are probably more dmv men over 6’3 making 1mm or more between 18-34 than 35-50

I prefer shorter men--it's easier for us to do it standing up, e.g. in the shower, when he is shorter.

Not super well educated on the topic, but, I thought black women themselves were much less likely to want to date outside their race (in the US) and not any aversion from men to black women.

I’m 5’4 and prefer men 5’9-6’0. Anything more is uncomfortable and does fit, when hugging or doing other things. My XH was 5’8 and the perfect height for me. Some women are silly.
