THIS. Pete’s people leaked to a Politico reporter when they’re all up in the “Dems in disarray” narrative. Meaningless. |
To be honest...... I think all of the hoopla over Pete and his prospects is to distract from this administration's - mainly Biden's horrendous polling. Get people talking about someone else. |
+1 He’s just not a serious contender. He’s fine where he is, but he does not have the resume for the office he wants. |
He didn’t have the resume for the job he has now….so what? You people are idiots if you can’t see that the democratic machine is driving this storyline. |
It's puzzling. Based on the tweets hating on Pete somehow he's simultaneously grossly underqualified yet ALSO some kind of a brilliant political mastermind manipulating the White House, VP's office and the media behind the scenes.
Some days I wish you'd all at least get coordinated on your fabricated narratives. |
And let's not forget Obama either. Went from being a community organizer/activists to the senate with nothing in between, and then a few years later the WH. Didn't exactly work out very well as he was certainly extremely inexperienced and naïve, and the sheer fawning over him was ridiculous and nothing symbolized it as much as winning the Nobel peace price when he'd done nothing, but as a symbol that was all that mattered. Politics is extremely strange. Becoming the president is all about being the right person at the right moment. Forces coalesce around candidates and reward the once unthinkable or unappealing. Biden was once a failure, doomed to obscurity (remember the early days of the primaries?), then the forces shifted quickly and brought him to the front very quickly solely based on being the most neutral of the candidates and having none of the flaws of the others (too progressive aka Bernie, unproven and gay aka Buttigieg, bossy and unappealing aka Warren and Klochubar). All the justifiable fears over Biden's age and health were outright ignored and swept under the carpet, and now it's backfiring and we're having this heir replacement discussions. But there really was no one else other than Biden at the right place at the right time, his blandness and neutrality was enough to win over the moderate and independents in 2020 in a way that Buttigieg or Sanders wouldn't have been able to. And that backfired spectacularly when Biden suddenly governed from the left instead of the center and that's also why we're in this mess. Right now, the Democratic playing field is as empty as ever with no real strong national figure that can command the central ground and there's all this talk and sniffing around for a heir replacement. |
+1 I wonder if there’s any way he could move to MD or VA and get elected to something there, or even to MI where Chasten is from. I like him but I think he needs to be elected to SOMETHING state-wide first before trying to seriously run for President. |
Let me help you: our society and world are disasters and the Democrats, one of the most powerful authors of said disasters, are refusing to learn and instead insist on playing their old games. Hence, Pete for President. Why is DCUM so credulous???? |
Calling people who disagree with you “idiots” doesn’t make your case. One article is not evidence that “the democratic machine is driving this storyline;” it’s evidence that Buttigieg wants to be president and is starting the push now. This is a PR article. Whoop di do. |
Classic propaganda technique. The enemy must be simultaneously omnipresent, insidious, and relentlessly crafty while at the same time being risible, incompetent, and lacking all admirable qualities. The enemy has to be an existential threat while also being clearly inferior. |
[Narrator]: Obama was a good President with successful policies. |
Obama's failures: poor GFC response, continued AFG war, continued Gitmo, continued surveillance state, tech bro-douches, a messed-up Democratic Party, AND DJT's Presidency. What were you saying, PP? |
![]() ![]() Oh my. I guess “your fellow Dems” = all Democrats, everywhere. |
Exactly. I’m sensing some real panic here, which always presents with references to “the RWNJ media.” DP |
Bingo. |
